The Army historian that led the search effort concluded that the article was historically suspect because of when it was written, the contexts in which the comments appear, the nature of the source, and inferences from comparisons with other sources. The District of Columbia s research led me to reach a far different conclusion. In doing so, it should be noted that the historian completed his search and opinion in only 23 days the District had been studying this site for over two years. They also had the benefit of substantial recent knowledge regarding the site. The District s reasons for crediting the accuracy of the story follow. 

General Considerations. The focus within this study is on reactions in which PdBra has found to be advantageous in comparison with other sources of Pd(n) catalyst such as PdCl2 and Pd(OAc)2. 

The effect of cellular debris, and other particulate matter, on the mechanical properties of mucus depends on the strength of the interaction. It has generally been assumed that cells act as a neutral filler, adding relatively little to the viscoelastic properties of mucus in comparison with other sources of variation in mucous gel viscoelasticity. 

Water quality must be studied as well as quantity. Chemical and bacteriological examination will indicate the extent of treatment required and will aid in the development of water cost estimates for comparison with other locations. The possible contamination of the water source by other industries in the area should be anticipated. Note that "contamination" may consist of raising the temperature of the water to a level that renders its use as a cooling medium impossible.

The reduction of imines can be performed with zinc powder in 5% aq. NaOH solution without any organic solvents under mild conditions (Tsukinoki et al., 1998). In comparison with other conventional methods, some advantages of this method are the fact that, since the reaction can be done in water at room temperature under atmospheric pressure, it is safe, and that hydrogen gas is not necessary because the proton source is water. Furthermore, Zn powder is cheap compared with metal hydrides, hydrogenation catalyst, and lanthanides, and is not sensitive to oxygen and water. 

Although the notion of normal is not appropriate to biomonitoring, there are two axes of potential reference around which comparisons may be pertinent and indeed important. The first is in relation to comparable subjects. For example, where adequate information exists, it would be entirely appropriate to express values in relation to one or more groups of subjects. For example, it would be reasonable to report an individual or group of blood lead concentrations in children as comparable with those measured (extensively) in populations of children not known to have a specific exposure source or suggestive of an identifiable source of exposure. In adults, it might be reasonable to express lead concentrations as comparable with concentrations seen in the population not occupationally exposed to lead within the range of concentrations seen in workers exposed to lead under well-controlled conditions, or the like. Those are not assessments of normality or health effects, merely comparisons with other potentially relevant populations that could lead to research inferences or clinical or public-health interventions. 

The main benefit of tidal power, in comparison with other forms of renewable energy, is its predictability. The timing and force of tides can be predicted with great accuracy, and thus so can the power produced by a plant. The main drawback of this power source is its high initial equipment cost, which runs many times that of conventional power sources.

Four major enzyme groups are secreted lipolytic, proteolytic, amylolytic, and nucleic acid splitting enzymes. These pancreatic enzymes, some of which are secreted in multipile forms, possess specificities complementary to die intestinal membrane-bound enzymes (Tabic 1). Fresh, uncontsnkinated pancreatic juice is without proteolytic activity because these enzymes am in the form of inactive zymogens. An important fraction of the calcium in pancreatic juice accompanies the enzymes, especially ct-amylase. Human pancreatic juice is moat dose to that of the pig, with high proportions of lipase and a-amylase in comparison with other mammals [1]. In comparison with other groundwater pollution sources, the complexity of the source means that many different compounds (inorganic and organic) and processes (geochemical and microbial) will be interacting in a landfill leachate plume. 

Rendered animal proteins are commodities and compete on the world market with other sources of protein. A comparison of meat meal, fishmeal, and soybean meal prices is shown in Figure 12. In this case, the soybean meal with 49-50% protein is basis Decatur, the soybean meal with 44% protein is also basis Decatur, the meat meal with 59% protein is basis Kansas City, and the fishmeal with 60% protein is basis U.S. Gulf Coast (5).
