Coil coating equipment

Paint jobs should be scheduled to minimize changing colors in roll and coil coating equipment. Paint with light colors first, then darker ones the lighter coating does not need to be completely removed from the equipment, but can blend into the darker coating. As most roll and coil lines apply only one color, this is typically not an issue. 

Roll and coil coating equipment should be maintained to sustain proper operation. Valves, gages, and rollers should be checked to ensure they are in proper working order.

Roll and coil coating areas should be kept clean so that problems with equipment can be found and fixed quickly, and accidents prevented.

Another method of spatially resolving variations in impedance involves constructing regular arrays of small cells on a sample surface and performing conventional EIS measurements in them on a serial basis (138). Texas. In Texas, regulators restrict emissions rather than equipment. Emissions are limited across the board for certain industries. Limits (lb/gal) are specified for particular coatings in other industries. For example large appliances, 2.8 furniture, 3.0 coil coatings, 2.6 automotive OEM—primers, 1.2 if submersed and 2.8 if sprayed, topcoats, 2.8, and repair, 4.8 miscellaneous metal—color, 2.5, top clear-coat, 4.3, and all others, 3.0. 

Coll Coating. Coil coating is one of the most efficient methods of applying primers, topcoats, graphics, and laminates to colls or rolls of metals. The prefinished metal, which can be shaped and formed, enables the customer to eliminate costly in-house paint lines, energy-consuming curing ovens, and expensive pollution-control equipment.

Alternatively, some coating systems are characterized by the application method used. For example, for coil-coated metal sheet (commonly steel or galvanized steel), very specialized high-speed roller application equipment is used to coat the sheet steel as it is unwound from a coil. The paint used in the coil-coating process can be of virtually any generic type, although alkyds, polyesters, epoxies, and zinc-rich epoxy coatings are the most prevalent.
