Patent classification codes are another subject-search parameter available in most patent databases. IPC codes are usually present and U.S. codes exist in a number of files in the case of Japan Patent Information Organization (JAPIO), Japanese codes too are available. It is possible to mimic a hand search by limiting operations to references falling within one class or group of classes. Although such strategies can in some instances be justified, it is usually wiser to treat class codes as just one of the various subject parameters that make up a search strategy. 

Using the federal system, the New Jersey Department of Labor assigns the classification code at the time that an employer registers his or her business with that department for unemployment insurance programs. The assignment is based on the employer s description of the primary activity of the business.

If a business activity has changed over the years, the Department of Labor can reassign your business a more appropriate SIC code, and provide you with a certification statement of the change.

The resultant four-character diamond bit classification code was formally presented to the lADC Drilling Technology Committee at the 1986 SPE/IADC Drilling Conference. It was subsequently approved by the lADC Board of Directors and designated to take effect concurrent with the 1987 SPE/IADC Drilling Conference. The four-character bit code is entered on an lADC-API Daily Drilling Report Form as shown in Figure 4-157. The space requirements are consistent with the four-character lADC roller bit classification code. The two codes are readily distinguished from one another by the convention that diamond bit codes begin with a letter, while roller bit codes begin with a number.

Cutter Type and Body Material. The first character of the fixed cutter classification code describes the primary cutter type and body material (Figure 4-156).

Profile. The numbers 1 through 9 in the second character of the fixed cutter classification code refer to the bit s cross-sectional profile (Figure 4-158). The... 

Figure 4-163 shows a steel body PDC bit with standard-size cutters lightly set on a deep inner cone profile. This bit has changeable nozzles and is best described as having a ribbed flow pattern although there are open face characteristics near the center and bladed characteristics near the gage. The lADC classification code in this case is S 7 4 4. 

The definition of the chemical processing industries (CPI) used in this table is the one used by Data Resources and Chemical Engineering in compiling their statistics on these industries. For several of the industries listed, only a part is considered to be in the CPI and data are presented for this part only. A list of the Standard Industrial Classification codes used to define the CPI for this table is given in Appendix C.

The data on the epidemiology of anaphylaxis are widely varying estimates on the frequency of this condition. The findings are based on diverse study designs and are often not comparable. A clear conclusion from the data published so far is difficult. One major reason is that there is no universal consensus regarding the definition of anaphylaxis. The International Classification Codes (ICD) recording anaphylaxis are imprecise and do not properly reflect the epidemiological needs. 

The flashpoint experimental data overlap each other. Notice in anticipation that there is a limit of 93°C, which leads to a change in the NFPA classification code (inflammability from 1 to 2) showing how sometimes the level of error can have important consequences on risk evaluation. This example shows up another concern, which is in considering a comparison of the approach by Hilado with the author s variant, since there is a conflict between the methods on the calculation of stoichiometric concentration.

Published by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, ChemIDplus [62] is a web-based search system, http //chem.sis.nlm.nih.gov/ chemidplus/, that provides free access to structure and nomenclature authority files used for the identification of chemical substances cited in National Library of Medicine (NLM) databases. ChemIDplus also provides structure searching and direct links to biomedical resources at NLM and on the Internet. The database contains over 349,000 chemical records, over 56,000 of which include chemical structures, and is searchable by name, synonym, CAS registry number, molecular formula, classification code, locator code, and structure.

For example, one might ask the system to search for all compounds with classification Code of TUMORIGEN. How many users will have read the user s guide carefully enough to know that this means only that these compounds may have been reviewed by IARC or NTP but NOT that they have been indicted as tumorigenic ...
