China chemical products manufacturer

In addition to the efforts by the CPQF, the Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM) participates in Responsible Care in China. These international companies produce 10-15% of the chemical products manufactured in China. Participating AICM members implement Responsible Care principles at their own operations and support Chinese companies introducing Responsible Care [168,169]. Support and expansion of Responsible Care in China is a stated goal for ICCA [170]. [Pg.121]

Vitamin C was the first vitamin to be manufactured by chemical synthesis on an iadustrial scale. Major suppHers of vitamin C are Hoffmaim-La Roche, BASF, Takeda, E. Merck, and various companies ia China. Additional production occurs ia Eastern Europe and India. [Pg.16]

Albemarle Corp. is involved in a JV in China for the manufacture of various polymer additives including flame retardants. The US company and Jinhai Chemical Industry Co. will jointly sell and export these products from the new enterprise. [Pg.90]

Vanillin is a flavoring agent used in syrups, ice cream, and other edible products. Xuebao Fine Chemicals Co. Ltd. (China) used to manufacture vanillin from o-nitro chlorobenzene. The process produced toxic chemicals, three to five different tars, high CODs, high VOCs, high health and safety risks, and unacceptable standards for a flavoring product. The plant dumped untreated effluents into a nearby river, and toxic tars were stockpiled in unmonitored landfills. Rhodia Chemicals purchased Xuebao in 2000. The process was modified so that it is now based on the catechol route (see Fig. 9.29). This process does not produce any waste and uses several heterogeneous catalysts. [Pg.278]

All of the state- and local government-owned plastic producers are under the guidance of the State Petroleum and Chemical Industry Bureau (part of the State Economic and Trade Commission - SETC). The Bureau controls over 750 large plastic companies throughout the country. China Petrochemical Corp (Sinopec) dominates over 90% of China s petrochemical production and directly controls the country s major petrochemical producers, many of whom are key plastics producers and product manufacturers. [Pg.7]

Jilin Chemical Industrial Co Ltd, founded in 1954, is one of the largest chemical producers in China and accounted for 11.18% of China s ethylene production in 2003 over the last year. The industrial group has 57 plants and affiliates as well as 131 000 employees and manufactures 680 types of chemicals and chemical products. Its principal businesses consist of the production of petroleum products, petrochemical and organic chemical products, synthetic rubber, chemical fertilizers and inorganic chemical products and other chemical products. It exports over US 30 million worth of products each year. [Pg.96]

Total U.S. production of potassium metal is less than 500 t/yr. There are few commercial producers worldwide, although some companies produce potassium captively. The more prominent producers are CaHery Chemical Company (a division of Mine Safety AppHances Company) in the United States and the People s RepubHc of China. Potassium may be manufactured in Russia as well. Strem Chemicals (U.S.) suppHes small quantities in ampuls. [Pg.517]

The pattern of commercial production of 1,3-butadiene parallels the overall development of the petrochemical industry. Since its discovery via pyrolysis of various organic materials, butadiene has been manufactured from acetylene as weU as ethanol, both via butanediols (1,3- and 1,4-) as intermediates (see Acetylene-DERIVED chemicals). On a global basis, the importance of these processes has decreased substantially because of the increasing production of butadiene from petroleum sources. China and India stiU convert ethanol to butadiene using the two-step process while Poland and the former USSR use a one-step process (229,230). In the past butadiene also was produced by the dehydrogenation of / -butane and oxydehydrogenation of / -butenes. However, butadiene is now primarily produced as a by-product in the steam cracking of hydrocarbon streams to produce ethylene. Except under market dislocation situations, butadiene is almost exclusively manufactured by this process in the United States, Western Europe, and Japan. [Pg.347]

Batch crystallizers are widely used in the chemical and allied industries, solar saltpans of ancient China being perhaps the earliest recorded examples. Nowadays, they still comprise relatively simple vessels, but are usually (though not always) provided with some means of agitation and often have artificial aids to heat exchange or evaporation. Batch crystallizers are generally quite labour intensive so are preferred for production rates of up to say 10 000 tonnes per year, above which continuous operation often becomes more favourable. Nevertheless, batch crystallizers are very commonly the vessel of choice or availability in such duties as the manufacture of fine chemicals, pharmaceutical components and speciality products. [Pg.190]
