The proceedings of the two Sanibel meetings, commemorating the contributions of Hylleraas and Mulliken, were published in the Reviews of Modern Physics and in the Journal of Chemical Physics, respectively. According to Lowdln s recollections, the American Institute of Physics seemed worried that these activities were taking too much space in its publication outlets, a situation that created an extra incentive for the industrious Lowdin to create a new journal (Lowdin 1986, 21). The International Journal of Quantum Chemistry was founded in 1967 and published by Interscience Publishers, a division of John Wiley Sons, dementi s talk and a selection of other communications delivered at the Sanibel meeting honoring Slater were included in a supplement to its first volume. ... [Pg.218]
