Bulk containers trailers

A four digit number representing a particular chemical or group of chemicals. These numbers are assigned by the United Nations (UN Numbers), the U.S. Department of Transportation (NA Numbers), or Transport Canada (NA Niunbers). These numbers are commonly used throughout the world to aid in the quick identification of the materials contained within bulk containers (such as rail cars, semi-trailers and intermodal containers). [Pg.10]

Specialty Gases. The specialty gases are generally more reactive than the bulk gases and usually have low volume flow requirements in their appHcations. Historically, these have been deHvered almost exclusively in standard compressed gas cylinders. However, as the need for increased quantities has arisen, bulk specialty gas supply systems utilising larger ton-sized containers and tube trailers are being developed. [Pg.89]

Shipment and Storage. 2-Pyrrohdinone is available in steel dmms and in aluminum or stainless-steel tank cars and tank trailers. Because of its high freezing point, bulk shipments are in tanks with heating coils. Heating with hot water rather than steam avoids product discoloration. Steel (qv), stainless steel, and aluminum are satisfactory materials for storage containers. Because 2-pyrrohdinone is hygroscopic, it must be protected from atmospheric moisture. [Pg.361]

Use Linings in interiors of containers that haul dry bulk ladings of edibles or chemicals. Complies with FDA regulations. Accepted by the Meat Inspection Division of the USDA for interiors of freight cars, motor trucks, and trailers and in federally inspected meat-processing plants. [Pg.570]

Collapsible rubber containers can be used to transport bulk liauids in conventional flat bed truck trailers. Sealdtanlk, produced by U. S. Rubber, rolls up like a rug when not in use, permitting the same truck to be used for both liquids and dry cargo... [Pg.73]

Carbon monoxide is presently being shipped in cylinders, tube trailers, and bulk cryogenic containers. [Pg.316]

SPC turns polystyrene resin into recyclable/disposable containers for the food industry. Polystyrene is purchased as a commodity in the form of resin pellets. The resin is unloaded from bulk rail containers or overland trailers into storage silos. Making the food containers is a two-step process. First, resin is conveyed to an extruder, which converts it into a polystyrene sheet that is wound into rolls. The plastic comes in two forms— clear and black. The rolls are either used immediately to make containers or put into storage. Second, the rolls are loaded onto thermoforming presses, which... [Pg.207]

Fiber drums or bulk explosives and propellants should be shipped only by motor carrier or trailer-on-flat car. Glass containers should not be used because of their fragility and severe missile hazard. [Pg.285]
