Architects and builders desire factual data on products. However, their standards or codes in many cases only identify the composition of the end item, with no performance data. In most cases, the plastics were never subjected to engineering analysis but approved based on past performances. This situation is not new to the engineering community, where patience, time and/or money resolve the problem. 

The boom in suburban home building also had other effects on energy resources. As large-scale builders cleared the land of trees, the new homes were subject to more heat and more cold, increasing the energy that was required to keep the temperature comfortable inside. 

Since all is ultimately consciousness, mind (as Buddhist metaphysics terms consciousness) is the builder of all and the source of the illusion of separateness. It is by the skillful use of the image-building faculty of consciousness (imagination) that we fashion the tools for our liberation. The subjectivity of inner vision does not diminish its reality value. It is real on its own level. Such visions are not hallucinations, because their reality is that of the human psyche. They are symbols in which the highest knowledge and the noblest endeavor of the human mind are embodied. Visualization is the creative process of spiritual projection, through which inner experience is translated into visible form, comparable to the creative act of an artist whose subjective idea, emotion, or vision is transformed into an objective work of art which then takes on a reality of its own, independent of the creator. 

Fixed-Roof Tanks. The effect of internal pressure on plate structures, including tanks and pressure vessels, is important to tank design. If a flat plate is subjected to pressure on one side, it must be made quite thick to resist bending or deformation. A shallow cone-roof deck on a tank approximates a flat surface and is typically built of 3/ 16-in. (4.76-mm) thick steel (Fig. 4a). This is unable to withstand more than a few inches of water column pressure. The larger the tank, the more severe the effect of pressure on the structure. As pressure increases, the practicality of fabrication practice and costs force the tank builder to use shapes more suitable for internal pressure. The cylinder is an economic and easily fabricated shape for pressure containment. Indeed, almost all large tanks are cylindrical. The problem, however, is that the ends must be closed. The relatively flat roofs and bottoms or closures of tanks do not lend themselves to much internal pressure. As internal pressure increases, tank builders use roof domes or spheres. The spherical tank is the most economic shape for internal pressure storage in terms of required thickness, but it is generally more difficult to fabricate than a dome- or umbrella-roof tank because of its compound curvature. 

Our discussion appears to lead us away from the subject, and yet not so. We have to clear away this rubbish, before we can ever hope to find the Stone which the builders have so long rejected. It is this White Stone, which in synthetic form becomes visible as the Virgin of the World, and so glorious is the sight that no one could ever possibly blame the Sages for falling down and worshipping it, when once it bursts in full view. 

Other possible builder salts include tetrapotas-sium pyrophosphate, sodium trimetaphosphate, trisodium and tripotassium phosphates, and sodium acid pyrophosphates. Significant literature reviews cover this subject in great detail.24 25... 

The same subjective and objective methods for determining the effects of softeners discussed in Chapter 3 can be applied to the assessment of hand builders. Process control of fullness is most easily accomplished by monitoring the percentage weight increase of the fabric in finishing. The test results can be used to predict indoor air levels if load factors, ventilation rates, temperature, air humidity and occupant activities are known. This subject is explained in Chapter 1. A major assumption of our work is that teachers need an adequate grasp of subject matter and the purpose and nature of scientific models in order to teach their own students (Justi Gilbert, 2001). It is important for teachers to know how to do modelling and know about modelling (Hodson, 1993). There are only a few studies focused on preservice teachers understandings of models and views of using scientific models in classrooms (e.g. van Driel Verloop, 1999). To address this problem, we created a context for situating preservice teachers as model builders. 

The plastic industry understands that the subjects important to the architect and builder includes information such as code requirements, setting up building standards and logical identification of over 25,000 plastics, static and dynamic load capabilities in structural parts, use of multifunctional parts, products provide new or better solutions to the myriad problems that plaguing the construction industry, performance... 

Moreover, dozens of books and articles have already been published on the subject of builders and how they work, so that any reworking of the subject after so many, often very scholarly publications, carries the risk of lacking originality and being repetitive. For these reasons, we have introduced in this chapter certain results from recent, original work done in the application laboratories of Rhodia at Paris—Aubervilliers. 

Divalent and trivalent transition metal cations (Fe, Cu, Al, Zn, Ni, Cr, etc.) also have several harmful effects, such as flocculation or catalytic destabilization of the bleaching systems that furnish active oxygen, and must, therefore, be eliminated as well. To this end, organic sequestering agents that are more specific to the metallic cations to be removed are used. This subject is, however, on the fringes of the agreed definition of a builder.
