The main producers of rosemary oil are Tunisia, Morocco and Spain with ca. 150t annually. Rosemary oil is used widely in perfumery and in large amounts for perfuming bath foams, shampoos, and hair tonics. FCT 1974 (12), p.977 [8000-25-7], [84604-14-8]. [Pg.216]

Various procedures for the purification of specific amine-boranes have been reported.12 Ethylenediamine-bisborane can be purified conveniently by aqueous extraction to remove water-soluble impurities. The crude product obtained from the tetrahydrofuran solution is ground to a fine powder in a mortar and added in small portions, with stirring, to about 75 ml. of water which has been cooled in an ice-water bath. Foaming may occur during this treatment. The white crystalline solid which does not dissolve is collected by filtration through a coarse-fritted-glass funnel and washed several times with small portions of cold water (about 5°C.). The final wash filtrate should be neutral toward pH paper. The product is dried by... [Pg.112]

Sachets. Extruded flexible vinyl lay-flat (tubing, folded flat along the length) is clamped, filled, and sealed in sections, each of the capacity required—to give discrete sachets of preparations such as bath foams, hair lacquers, and shampoos. [Pg.88]

The observation that trickle-down fragrances often convey a sense of luxury and style points to an aspect of perfumes that is of key importance in the perfuming of functional products The scent of a product connotes specific product qualities to the user. This is obvious when a lemon perfume is used in a dishwashing detergent advertised as containing lemon juice or in a sanitary cleaner based on citric acid, or when a herbaceous perfume is used in a herbal bath foam. But it also occurs in most if not all other uses of fragrance where the message is less specific. [Pg.142]

Impact refers to the efficacy of a perfume during the first moments of product experience, for examp when sniffing at the bottle or applying the product to the skin. Diffusion is a measure of the distance over which the fragrance is noticeable soon after application. High diffusion is desirable, for example the case of a bath foam or a dishwashing detergent where the consumer often looks for an immediate burst of scent. [Pg.144]
