Kraton Polymers has developed a multiarm SIS (Kraton 1320X [37,46,47,50]) and SBS (Kraton KX-222C, [48,49]) for rapid UV/e-beam cure. Besides heat resistance improvements, plasticizer resistance is also improved in cured rubber-based systems. The dioctyl phthlate plasticizer common in PVC backing films is soluble in the styrenic domains of SBCs. Crosslinking of the mid-block provides cohesion even after plasticizer attack [51]. [Pg.739]

Fig. 10.27). A fluorinated silane self-assembled monolayer was first applied to the master to aid in the separation of master and stamp. The stamp was formed using one of the following procedures. For thinner stamps, PDMS (Sylgard 184) pre-polymer mixture (1 10) was poured over the PR master and a 250 pm thick, 13-inch x 13-inch Mylar film was placed on top of the liquid PDMS. The prepolymer was evenly spread to less than 50 pm in thickness by rolling a Meyer rod over the surface of the Mylar backing film. [Pg.261]

Pre-polymer of PDMS was cured with holding down the edges of the slightly oversized Mylar backing film using vacuum plate at 67 °C on hotplate for 18 h. Thicker plates were fabricated as follows. One activity at DuPont s Fuel Cells Business Center is the development of a thinner membrane with sufficient mechanical stabdity. Thinner membranes translate into higher current density, which in turn means a higher electrical efficiency. The tradeoff is a less mechanically robust membrane. Nafion membranes are nonreinforced films based on Nafion resin, a PFSA/PTFE copolymer in the acid (H+) form. DuPont is especially marketing Nafion PFSA NR-111 and NR-112 membranes as nonreinforced dispersion-cast films for that purpose.
