Analyser streak

The method used by the group was first to determine the direction of substrate tilt by means of reciprocal space maps in each of the <110> directions contained in the plane of the wafer. These are shown in Figure 7.14. A narrow slit was used instead of an analyser ciystal, so some analyser streaks are seen near the substrate peaks (on the right of each map— the origin in this case is on the left-hand sides). It is seen that in (a) and (b) the beam is oriented perpendicular to the substrate tilt axis, as these maps show only strain. In (c) and (d) the effect of the grading can be seen, since both the tilt and the strain are changing, but these views are insufficient to make a complete analysis. For this we need an... 

LEED patterns at 0 = 1 /4, but was identified at lower coverages in islands surrounded by mobile sulfur atoms at platinum, rhodium and rhenium surfaces. Sautet and co-workers42 have analysed the statistical correlations between the intensities of sulfur features in p(2 x 2) islands on rhenium surfaces and also of streaks in areas between islands, which they attribute to sulfur atoms diffusing under the tip (Figure 10.12). 

Dynamic smdies of the alloy system in CO and H2 demonstrate that the morphology and chemical surfaces differ in the different gases and they influence chemisorption properties. Subnanometre layers of Pd observed in CO and in the synthesis gas have been confirmed by EDX analyses. The surfaces are primarily Pd-rich (100) surfaces generated during the syngas reaction and may be active structures in the methanol synthesis. Diffuse scattering is observed in perfect B2 catalyst particles. This is attributed to directional lattice vibrations, with the diffuse streaks resulting primarily from the intersections of 111 reciprocal lattice (rel) walls and (110) rel rods with the Ewald sphere. 

Urinary creatinine is determined on a Cobas Bio Analyser using a commercial modification of the Jaffe acid-picrate method (Wako, Neuss, Germany). Urine samples corresponding to 20 pg creatinine are applied directly as a thin streak in a stream of warm air, 1.5 cm from the lower edge of a 20x20 cm pre-coated silica gel TLC plate. Reference standards (10 pg) are used at a concentration of 1 pg/pl. 

Its fracture is uneven or Imperfectly conchoids its streak white, and its specific gravity 4 34 to 4 45. The ore is infusible before the blowpipe, but affords a white sublimate of oxide of zinc, when it Is heated on tho charcoal, and which is yellowish while hot, and becomes white on cooling.. By moistening the assay with a solution of nitrate of cobalt, and then heating, the green color peculiar to zinc under such treatment makes its appearance. Since we do not weigh these streaks, we assumed that the Ag + Cu + Zn + As + Sb + Au = 100%. By comparing the radioactivity levels in the streaks with those in the standard alloy streaks (each corrected for decay to a common reference time) we can then calculate the percent ratios Cu/Ag, Au/Ag, Zn/Ag, Sb/Ag, and As/Ag. The combination of these ratio data and the above equation allows us to calculate the individual percent values. Various chemical analyses reported in the literature for silver coins and art objects indicate that other elements such as lead and tin (which we do not detect) are usually present at less than 2%. There are notable exceptions however. Some types of coins from certain periods contain up to 10-15% Pb + Bi. As a result, we have always performed direct neutron Howitzer silver analysis on at least a few coins of each general type that are analyzed by streak analysis. The silver data for the Howitzer analysis are invariably lower than those for the streak analysis, but this is to be expected for two reasons the... 

Combined neutron Howitzer and streak analyses of 125 one- and two-peso coins not only reveal the real gold content of these issues but help to establish the silver standard, which was probably aimed at 900 thousands fine (90% silver), a creditable alloy and better than the 800 thousands (80%) of the federal subsidiary coinage. It was therefore possible to estimate fairly closely the theoretical composition and value of the Zapatista silver coinage. 

Betanine can be analysed from its uv absorption maximum at 535nm (at pH 3) while betaxanthine absorbs at 480nm. Preparation for chromatographic examination (ref. 11) by TLC on cellulose is effected by firstly homogenisation of the beetroot sample (50g) with aqueous methanol (1 1), filtration and concentration at less than 40°C. The residual solution is applied to the plate as a streak and doubly developed with isopropanol-ethanol-water-acetic acid (30 35 30 5). After drying of the plate under nitrogen, betanine appeared as a violet zone at Rf 0.27 with four other bands present.

In the decades between Holtby s study and Woolf s rediscovery by second-wave feminist criticism, a number of commentators on Woolf had also put feminism at the centre of their analyses - though often in less than sympathetic ways. For Woolf s friend and fellow-novelist E. M. Forster, delivering a lecture on her life and work two months after her death, Woolf s feminism was a very peculiar side of her , producing one of the most brilliant of her books - the charming and persuasive A Room of One s Own , but also responsible for the worst of her books - the cantankerous Three Guineas - and for the less successful streaks in Orlando . There are spots of [feminism] all over her work, and it was constantly in her mind, Forster asserted, representing feminism as a matter of streaks and spots , blemishes on the work of art. The detonation wave s arrival at the optical fibre, i.e., the light signal accompanying the detonation process, can be either recorded by the optical technique using a high-speed streak camera, or it can be transformed into an electric signal that may be recorded by a fast-storage oscilloscope or a multichannel analyser. 

Finally, it is of vital importance to analyse the shape and duration of single pulse profiles and this requires a streak camera. Comparative pulse diagnostics studies on our laser oscillator amplifier system have been reported in detail elsewhere (22) and illustrate the need to maintain excellent cavity control (to within y precision) to generate single laser pulses, rather than multiple pulse bursts, whose presence is often masked in the broadened wings n ensemble correlation function... 

The SAXS pattern from the fiber used to illustrate the analyses here is shown in Figure 1. The two features obvious in the data are the lamellar reflections and the equatorial streak. Less obvious is an interfibrillar interference peak along the equator at about 50 A. We will here focus only on the lamellar reflections. The various parameters determined by analyzing the data in Figure 1 are listed in Table 1 and are further elaborated below.
