Several designs for STM electrochemical cells have appeared in the literature [M]- hr addition to an airtight liquid cell and the tip insulation mentioned above, other desirable features include the incorporation of a reference electrode (e.g. Ag/AgCl in saturated KCl) and a bipotentiostat arrangement, which allows the independent control of the two working electrodes (i.e. tip and substrate) [ ] (figure BL19.11). [Pg.1685]

Red lead is a useful ingredient of anti-rusting paints, in which it is mixed with linseed oil. If glycerol is added to this mixture, a cement suitable for luting (i.e. making airtight or watertight) joints in iron pipes or vessels is obtained. [Pg.195]

Used ether containers should be handled cautiously and if they are found to contain hazardous soHd ether peroxides, bomb-squad assisted disposal may be required (134). The direct production of dry sodium methylate has been carried out by the introduction of methanol vapors to molten sodium in a heavy duty agitating reactor. Air-Filter Types Air filters may be broadly divided into two classes (1) panel, or unit, filters and (2) automatic, or continuous, filters.
