CHEMICAL MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION (CMA). Founded in 1863, this nonprofit trade association of chemical manufacture represents more than 90% of the chemical industry of the U S. and Canada. It is located at 2501 M St., N. W., Washington, DC 20037. It is particularly active in the fields of packaging, transportation, and safe handling of hazardous chemicals and wording of precautionary labels, as well as in general chemical education and all aspects of pollution control. It has instituted an emergency telephone information service called ChemTrec to provide instant information for safety precautions in accidents involving chemicals. 

Assisting in or actually specifying the packs to be used for any R D investigation, i.e. covering safety, animal and human studies (clinical pharmacology), clinical trials, as well as formulation development and package development. These activities also provide a useful source of early information on product-pack compatibility which can be supported by pack observations and general stability-type studies (see Chapter 3). 

Abstract. Since the credibility of the information on food safety is very important, the methods how to disseminate verified data on chemical food contaminants to whom it may concern is the SAFEFFOODNET project s principal objective. The Safefoodnet research project connects independent research institutions, universities, government agencies and ministries from across the EU. Vehicles and Shipments in Transit — Ihxring transit, the carrier must take all reasonable precautions to ensm e the safety of his/her load, the environment, and the general public. This means that vehicles stopped on a highway or shordder must be careftdly guarded, broken or leaking packages must be disposed of in the safest manner possible, and repairs or maintenance activities must be completed in accordance with the specified precautions. 

The Bundesamt fur Strahlenschutz (BfS - federal office for radiation protection) has established waste acceptance requirements for the KONRAD repository. These requirements were developed on the basis of the results of a site specific safety-asessment They include general requirements on waste packages as well as specific requirements on waste forms and packagings and limitations for activities of individual radionuclides [ 4 ]. To choose a package, different limits have to be fulfilled.
