Wetting factors affecting

The effective surface area will be affected by the wetting properties of the bile acids and other surface-active agents in the gastrointestinal tract. The dif-fusivity of a drug molecule in the intestinal juice will be altered by changes in viscosity that are induced, for instance, by meal components. The history of the surface is an additional factor affecting the release of contaminants adsorbed on solid phases into the liquid or gaseous phase. For example, the effect of drying on contaminant desorption is influenced by the time allowed for its transport into the aqueous phase. In sorbing systems, like sediments that are permanently wet, the history of the system determines the fate of sorbed molecules (Pignatello 1989). 

Two factors affect the reaction of both the wet and dry processes, viz. (1) mix design and (2) the ambient conditions prevailing during the spraying of the concrete. Mix design factors include cement type and content, water- cement ratio, cement-admixture compatibility and the presence of other admixtures. Cements with higher C3A contents such as Types I and III give faster reactions than cement with low C3A contents such as Types IV...

Agglomeration of particles in wet granulation have been studied extensively. The optimal end-point can be thought of as the factor affecting a number of agglomerate properties (Fig. 8). 

Several factors affect the efficiency of dispersion and milHng, including the volume concentration of the dispersed particles (i.e., the volume fraction) the nature of the wetting/dispersing agent and (iii) the concentration of the wetting agent/dispersant (which determines the adsorption characteristics).
