Table 6.1 has no caption that relates the data to specific wells or springs, the analytical units are not specified, and the data are arranged in increasing order of the sample number, which has no meaning. Table 6.1 is useless. 

Thus, the ratio is dependent on experimental parameters such as the optical path length, sample number density, and the phase matching conditions for the intermediate third-order processes, as well as the ratio of the third-and fifth-order response functions. In addition to handling large amounts of data generated automatically, the LIMS database must handle data from a number of data sources Instruments, terminals, personal work stations, and other computers. Not only does data exist in several forms but textual information such as header records, comments, reports and other documents must be accommodated. There exist well-defined relationships among the various data types in the laboratory. The dataset relationships must be carefully considered in designing the database. All data in the LIMS must be accessible by key fields such as sample number, method, instrument I.D. or laboratory. It is also necessary to support access of the stored data by ad hoc queries to extract information for correlations, summaries, retrospective studies and special reports. 

To demonstrate that STORM can indeed resolve nearby fluorescent molecules with sub-diffraction-limit resolution, we first engineered samples with known relative positions of the fluorescent labels - double-stranded DNA labeled with two Cy3-Cy5 pairs separated by a well-defined number (135) of base pairs, corresponding to an inter-CyS distance of 46 nm along the contour of DNA [4]. The DNA strands were immobilized in a flat configuration to a quartz slide through multiple biotin-streptavidin linkages. The two Cy5 dyes were turned on and off, repetitively, and the image sequence was analyzed to determine the positions of individual activated Cy5 dye. We then constructed... 

Most of the wells sampled were fitted with a standard Bangladesh number 6 hand pump. Each well was purged prior to sampling by pumping approximately one stroke per foot of well depth. The water sample was filtered through a 0.2 pm membrane filter into a plastic 30 ml bottle and acidified to 1% with concentrated Analytical Grade nitric acid. 

There has been considerable growth in the number of installed tubewells in recent years. Using the score of component four, a univariate regression model is built predicting concentration from scores of the calibration samples (without an offset). As can be seen in Figure 10.19 the model of calibration data is excellent. The unknown scores in the three test samples can subsequently be found simply by multiplying their score of component four with the regression coefficient. As expected, sample number five is not well predicted, whereas the two remaining ones are well predicted.
