Establish verification procedures Verification activities determine the effectiveness of the plan and to ensure correct system operation. 

The definitions and criteria that determine whether a chemical falls within the scope of the CWC or not, leaves a large number of chemicals in the gray area. One example of a group of chemicals that are excluded from the OCAD on the basis of purposes not prohibited under this Convention , is given by the Riot Control Agents . There are other examples, which need to be addressed in the future to determine how they can be regulated by the CWC as these have been seen to be very useful in the verification activities of the OPCW. Efforts are underway to find a way for the inclusion in the OCAD, of chemicals that are relevant to the CWC but are not covered by the schedule list (Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) and Validation Group (VG)). 

The results of a verification should be recorded to demonstrate that all prepared aspects have been covered. It should be clearly indicated which results met expectations and which did not (anomalies). All anomahes revealed by the various verification activities and analyses should be recorded and investigated. Records of all such anomalies should be maintained, including evidence of the means by which they were resolved. Where it is determined that a change is required to the documentation and source code, the procedures for changes described in Section 4 should be applied. 

The Government of the Republic of Cuba also considers that it has the right to require that the entry of any inspection group mandated by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, to carry out in the territory of Guantanamo Naval Base the verification activities provided for in the Convention, should be effected through a point of entry in Cuban national territory to be determined by the Cuban Government. 

Specific protective strategies can be determined from the various potential cause factors associated with the specific software anomalous behaviours. These protective strategies can include architectural mechanisms in hardware or software and/or specific verification activities as part of a safety directed development (see ARP4754).

NMR spectroscopy has been widely used for identification of optically active Schiff bases.15-18 It is also a valuable tool for determination of their conformations, suggesting the reaction pathway or simply for verification of their purity.19-22 Selected examples are given below.

The wash conditions described by Merchant are 30 minutes at the boil at pH 12. Any conditions less severe than this require verification for effectiveness. The conditions mentioned in the standard are more severe than are either economically or technically acceptable to the textile industry. The determination of the individual rate constants requires the determination of kp, a difficult task and one that has not often heen performed well [Dunn, 1979 Kennedy and Marechal, 1982 Plesch, 1971, 1984, 1988]. The value of kp is obtained directly from Eq. 5-31 from a determination of the polymerization rate. However, this requires critical evaluation of the concentration of propagating species. The literature contains too many instances where the propagating species concentration is taken as equal to the concentration of initiator without experimental verification. Such an assumption holds only if Rp < Rt and all the initiator is active, that is, the initiator is not associated or consumed hy side reactions. 

The above proposed pathway requires further verification of the reactivity of adsorbed intermediates by correlating their conversion rates with the product formation rates. Work is underway to study the adsorbed intermediates under transient condition to determine the reactivity of the IR-observable specie on the Au catalyst surface and to identify the nature of active sites (i.e., M", M °). 

Determination of Calcium Silicate. When specified by the procuring activity (See 6.2), Calcium Silicate used in the HBX H-6 compositions shall be determined by visual verification of the weight of calcium silicate added to the batch. Quantities added shall be calculated in terms of weight percent of TNT content... 

Chemical studies also support the indicated mechanism. For example, the P-oxoacid intermediate formed in step b of Eq. 13-48 or Fig. 13-12 has been identified as a product released from the enzyme by acid denaturation during steady-state turnover.273 274 Isotopic exchange with 3H in the solvent275 and measurement of 13C isotope effects277 have provided additional verification of the mechanism. The catalytic activity of the enzyme is determined by ionizable groups with pKa values of 7.1 and 8.3 in the ES complex.278... 

Describe the logic behind all pertinent activities that occurred during technology transfer from phase III clinical production to the commercial process (determination of full-scale commercial processes, specifications, lot size, etc.). Discuss problems, failures, and so on. Justify the absence of equivalency concerns despite the differences in process parameters. A variety of isolated pentacoordinate tungsten-carbene complexes are known to be active metathesis catalysts [53]. At least one of these systems has been proposed to be living based primarily on 1H NMR identification of the propagating alkylidene [53 e]. To date, verification of the living nature of these catalysts through GPC determination of polydispersities are still pending. The solution NMR studies do confirm the mechanism of the metathesis reaction, but do not insure that all of the requisite factors for a living system are met. 

The quantity given in equation (V-58) and expressing the average distance between the nearest ions in the solution (i. e. equalling the total of radii of both ions with opposite charges and being within the range of 3—5 x 10-8 cm) determines the specific influence of the electrolytes on the activity coefficient. Because this quantity iH not directly measurable, verification of the validity of the Debye - Hiickel theory is carried out in such a manner that a value is substituted for which conforms best with the values of y+c obtained by experiments.
