Valve Loading. The designer should be particularly careful in using low pressure rating valves with relatively heavy-walled pipe. The imposed moment caused by construction or by expansion may be beyond the structural capacity of the valve. For large-diameter piping, venturi ports are sometimes used on valves (particularly when motor operated). Also, standard valves one or two sizes... [Pg.317]

A 100-mL HokeJ spun Monel vessel (rated for 5000 psi) prepassivated with either P2 or CIP and equipped with a Whitey stainless steel valve (SSD 1RM4) (Seattle Valve ) is loaded with 15 mmol (1.83 g) of Cr02p2 (by PVT techniques) using a well-constructed Monel or nickel metal vacuum line (prepassivated with CIF) and equipped with Whitey valves and Swagelok connections at - 196° (liquid N2). An excess of fluorine (Mathesoiifll) (120 mmol) is introduced into the Monel vessel by a pressure difference... [Pg.124]

To introduce samples into the flow path, the easiest way is the usage of a sample loop that is connected to an HPLC valve. After loading and switching, the loop is integrated into the flow path and the sample is delivered to the separation column. Today, this task is done by autosamplers that can temper samples and provide 24 hours of fully automated and reproducible sample injection. [Pg.587]

Common carriers bear the fnimary responsibility for their cargoes. However, prudence and Responsible Care (Section 16.4.2.6) require a chlorine producer to be closely involved with all shipping agents and to share information and training resources. Mobile containers must be fabricated correctly to prevent or withstand damage. They require valves for loading and unloading these are particularly susceptible... [Pg.874]

The SEC analysis of components separated according to the chemical composition under critical conditions maybe carried out after transferring of effluent from column under critical conditions into a SEC column. This procedure requires additional sample valve with loading loops plus the adjustment of flow velocity and column dimensions [106]. The procedure is known as two-dimensional separation (for references see [22,25]). A fully automated chromatographic system for two-dimensional separation was developed by Kilz et al. [ 106,177] and is commercially available [178]. On the other hand, a reinjection of analyzed fraction from column working at critical conditions into the additional SEC column is not necessary, when two different systems under critical conditions are found, i.e. one for each components of copolymer (using two different columns or two different eluents). Corresponding complementary LCCC systems may be selected from Table 1-3. In this case, parts of copolymer, which are not under CEEC, should be eluted in SEC modus. The distribution of molar mass of both components of copolymers may be then measured directly under critical conditions, as have been demonstrated in [47,67,78,80]. If necessary, LCCC maybe scaled up to preparative quantities [71]. [Pg.129]
