Using Clear

When you choose Clear from the Edit menu, a submenu is displayed with All, Formats, Contents, Comments. If you choose Formats from the submenu, for example, you can remove only formats from selected cells. Choosing Contents will delete the cell value but not the format. 

Excel Tip. The easiest way to clear a range of cells is to use the Erase tool.  

To remove only formatting from a cell, use the Clear Formats button See Chapter 19 for instructions on how to make these buttons available.

When using fixed beds, there are various arrangements used to switch between adsorption and regeneration. Cycles involving two, three and four beds are used. The unsuitable nature of many commercial instruments which are in common use clearly illustrates the confusion prevalent in the field of viscometric measurements. Virtually every experimental chemical technique that can be applied to solutions has at one time or another been used for the investigation of isopolyanions. The often conflicting results that pervade the literature are caused by the investigators failure (a) to appreciate the complexity of the equilibria and kinetics involved and (b) realistically to assess the experimental limitations of the technique used. Clearly, there is no one experimental method that can reveal the complete story, and the literature must therefore be read extremely critically.

When I took classes at the Institute of Culinary Education, we had to wash out our pastry bag after each use, and it was such a pain. Although they don t make me feel as fancy, they re a breeze to clean, and because suppliers typically sell them in batches, you can always keep some in reserve.

Assessors should base their selection of methods on clearly defined decision criteria, and they need to communicate the results using clear and transparent language. This includes statements on the extrapolation issues that were considered but not addressed, and the magnitude and direction of the bias that may have been introduced by the extrapolation or lack thereof. In lower tiers and prospective risk assessment, this should lead to setting more appropriate UFs and ensure that lower tier approaches are more conservative than higher tier approaches. All this helps assessors to make informed decisions, on one hand, but it also allows the identification of future research needs, on the other hand, especially when methods are not available.
