Bronze disease necessitates immediate action to halt the process and remove the cause. For a long time, stabilization was sought by removal of the cuprous chloride by immersing the object in a solution of sodium sesquicarbonate. This process was, however, extremely time-consuming, frequentiy unsuccesshil, and often the cause of unpleasant discolorations of the patina. Objects affected by bronze disease are mostiy treated by immersion in, or surface appHcation of, 1 H-henzotriazole [95-14-7] C H N, a corrosion inhibitor for copper. A localized treatment is the excavation of cuprous chloride from the affected area until bare metal is obtained, followed by appHcation of moist, freshly precipitated silver oxide which serves to stabilize the chloride by formation of silver chloride. Two undesirable aspects of FCC naphtha quaUty are that it may contain unacceptably high amounts of foul smelling mercaptans, and that its thermal stabiUty may be too low. Mercaptans are usually found in the light FCC naphtha and may be removed or converted to sulfides and disulfides by a sweetening process such as Merox, developed by UOP. Thermal stabiUty is improved in sweetening processes through removal of cresyUc and naphthenic acids. Abstract This review provides an overview of the development of viral protease inhibitors as antiviral drugs. We concentrate on HlV-1 protease inhibitors, as these have made the most significant advances in the recent past. In order to produce soy protein, soybeans are first dehulled, flaked, and defatted to make white flakes . Soy protein concentrates are obtained by removing a portion of the carbohydrates from defatted and dehulled soybeans. Alcohol extraction is the method most commonly used to manufacture soy protein concentrates even though it results in the loss of isoflavones. Soy protein concentrates retain most of the fiber in the original soybean and must contain at least 65% protein on a moisture-free basis to meet quality standards. The most concentrated source of soy protein is soy protein isolates (or isolated soy protein, ISP), which is required to be at least 90% protein on a moisture-free basis. It is heat-treated during processing to insure inactivation of trypsin inhibitors.
