For example, improvements to incident/near-miss reporting might require modem communications between facilities and headquarters or a particular training module could be purchased to address an identified gap.

This texts authors personal chemical plant experiences include training needs checklists for both new salaried and new chemical process operators. These checklists include an entire array of personnel safety, process safety, and Department ofTransportation and environmental stewardship focus points. Unfortunately, unauthorized and inept changes can ruin products, equipment, reputations, and more, so MOC refresher training must be conducted more frequently. A yearly refresher course on MOC is a condition of employment. I am familiar with a course that is a locally developed, computer-based training module. 

The Institution of Chemical Engineers also offers a full range of training materials in the form of hazard workshop training modules. These modules comprise case studies including documented accidents, 35-mm color slides, and notes for the discussion leader. Several of the modules are supplied with a video in the package. The Committee was informed that much positive feedback had been received from manufacturers, inspectorates and universities using the training modules. A large number of training workshops had been held by WHO in different regions for various countries. The Committee noted that the training materials were being revised to reflect the current GMP. After about a 30-minute discussion of the facts and how this relates to your individual operation, distribute the 8-point driver quiz. If you want to go over a specific company policy on driver fatigue, this session would be a great way to present it to your drivers. This will require additional time planned into the training module.
