Any violations must be corrected within a time period specified on the NOV The compliance officer will conduct a follow-up inspection to make sure all the violations are corrected. 

Upon conclusion of the pre-inspection briefing, the inspection team leader shall provide to the representative of the inspected State Party a tentative inspection plan to facilitate the conduct of the inspection. For the purpose of facilitating development of an inspection plan, and familiarising the inspection team with the general layout of the declared facility, the inspected State Party may provide to the inspection team a tour of the declared facility, if possible and agreed. The tour will be limited to a visual drive-by tour with general explanation of the physical layout of the declared facility. The conduct of any such tour will be without prejudice to the 3-hour time limit for pre-inspection activities. 

Before the commencement of inspection activities, the inspection team leader shall inform the representative of the inspected State Party about the initial steps to be taken in implementing the inspection plan, the plan to be adjusted by the inspection team as circumstances warrant throughout the inspection process in consultation with the inspected State Party as to its implementability in regard to paragraph 40 of Part II of the Verification Aimex. If requested, at the beginning of inspection activities, the inspected State Party may provide a tour of the facility. 

This involves a physical tour and inspections of control systems that are intended to identify and eliminate hazards. Any shortcomings in current hazard identification processes will be identified by an audit. Therefore, audits are essential to an organization s hazard identification program. 

It is also likely that a reminder to staff relating to unauthorised alterations to electrical equipment would be issued (this could be by way of e-mail, memo, etc.) (Priority 2). It would be further recommended that electrical appliance leads be included on visual fire safety inspections/tours of the building and records of such inspection tours are kept (Priority 3). This last element may also need the overall fire safety policy to be amended to include formal monthly inspection programmes (Priority 3/4). 

It is also important that the area where finished excipient is stored be under an insect and rodent control program. Typically, the site contracts with an exterminator to perform monthly inspections for evidence of insect or rodent activity. The exterminator should only use Food Drug and Administration approved materials in controlling these pests. The exterminator should tour the site following a proscribed path usually defined on a site map. The exterminator should provide a report of his/ her findings to the site. Industrial applications of supercritical fluids had humble beginnings. The EPA may ask for a general site tour, to orient themselves to the particular operations at the facihty. This is a legitimate part of an inspection and the company should be prepared to conduct the inspectors around the facility and answer basic questions about the manufacturing processes. 

The inspection will usually start with a plant tour, during which the inspector will obtain a general overview of the facility and its operations. During this tour, a management representative may accompany the inspector (unless he or she wishes to speak to an employee privately). At the conclusion of the tour, the OSHA officer must inform the plant management of any violations found, along with a statement as to how much time is to be allowed for correction. 

During the visit, the OSHA inspector will take notes, collect information, and take pictures. It is perfectly in order for a representative of the company to take a matching set of notes and pictures in the event that there should be a dispute with OSHA s findings. Also, employees have a right to have one of their representatives present during an inspection tour. If there is a union, it will select the person otherwise the employees will have to find some other way of finding a representative. This person cannot be appointed by management.
