Time of Planting

In the North, parsley may be seeded as soon as the ground can be worked in the spring. Earliness and surer results may be obtained by starting the plants indoors and transplanting them to the open ground. Plants should be started about midsummer for the fall crop and for the crop grown during the winter in cold frames.

Accumulation in plant and structures - a considerable amount of mercury accumulates, e.g. in pipework, and can only be recovered and accounted for at the time of plant decommissioning (or possibly, in part, during maintenance and/ or replacement of individual plant items such as pumps) studies suggest that over 90% of this mercury can eventually be recovered. 

There are a number of cultural and environmental conditions which prevail during the growing season and strongly affect the processing quality of potatoes climate, rainfall, irrigation and soil moisture, soil type, time of planting and harvesting, kind and amount of fertilizers used, and control of insects and diseases.

Two of the standards directly related to worker health and important in design work are Toxic Hazardous Substances and Occupational Noise Exposure. The first of these two concerns the normal release of toxic and carcinogenic substances, carried via vapors, fumes, dust fibers, or other media. Compliance with the Act requires the designer to make calculations of concentrations and exposure time of plant personnel to toxic substances during normal operation of a process or plant. These releases could emanate from various types of seals and from control-valve packings or other similar sources. Normally, the designer can meet the limits set for exposure to toxic substances by specifying special valves, seals, vapor-recovery systems, and appropriate ventilation systems.

Cultural practices are agricultural practices used to alter the enviromnent, the condition of the host, or the behavior of the pest to prevent or suppress an infestation. Planting, growing, harvesting, and tillage practices sometimes can be manipulated to reduce pest populations. Other practices such as crop rotation, pasture rotation, varying the time of planting, and use of trap crops also affect pests.

Because oleic and linoleic safflower seeds are virtually identical in appearance, extreme care is necessary to prevent inadvertent mixing. If a positive paper trail can be established for identifying fields of linoleic and oleic safflower from time of planting until delivery to the oil mill or storage point, much more confidence is possible when the samples are taken and the seed is checked for refractive index to... 

Unfortunately, in many cases the availability of the actual material that needs to be processed in a new installation is limited at the time of plant design. The testing of similar materials from different sources, even if they are chemically identical and seem to be physically comparable, is not recommended because traces of impurities and minuscule changes of surface structure, for example, can decisively change many or all aspects of a material s agglomerative behavior. Therefore, a common desire is to use small laboratory, often desk top equipment in an effort to develop the sizing and parameters of a large scale industrial plant. 

Considering the slight cost of bacterial inoculation, it is the best practice to help insure a successful crop by the inoculation of the seed at the time of planting if there is any indication whatever that the Boil is not sufficiently inoculated. In the growing of legumeB or any other crop there are enough factors beyond man B control, bo that no cme can afford to neglect to provide for those necessary conditions which are controllable. 

The inoculation of the seeds of legumes at the time of planting or shortly before is a generally recommended procedure under the following conditions (1) when the legume has not been grown on the soil previously, or at least not recently (2) when there is... 

It is of interest to examine the annual cash flows on nondiscounted and discounted bases, as shown in the bar graphs below. The first graph is for the former. For discounted cash flows, the second graph is for an interest rate of 15%, while the third graph is for the IRR of 19%. Note that discounted cash flows during the time of plant operation are much smaller than those for the nondiscounted cash flows in the first graph.
