To maintain an effective safety program the employer must perform periodic safety work observations to ensure that (1) the employee indeed has the knowledge to perform the work task as trained and (2) is indeed performing the work task as trained. [Pg.16]

Step 3. Train the observers. Those conducting the observation should be given training in how to conduct task observation. They must learn to utilize the standard observation procedure and the work sheet, as well as generally how to conduct observations. [Pg.220]

Observation level some form of queuing system for jobs required. Evaluation level management must outline explicit criteria for running concurrent tasks train staff not only in normal work situations, but also in heavy work load situations use valid training methods and provide procedures. [Pg.312]

Measurement of the strength of odours by dynamic dilution olfactometry and observers is a complex task. The observers require adequate training and sound psychophysical procedures are needed to maximise the validity of the measurements. [Pg.132]

Validation Team A well-defined validation team with a well-written description of responsibilities is required and assures the adequate realization of the validation tasks. A validation team should be composed by different responsibilities responsible-of-validation team, team leader, archive manager, test coordinator, quality assurance member, tester, and witness. The responsible-for-validation team elaborates and approves the VMP, protocols, and reports. The team leader should be responsible for the computer system validation and utilization. An archive manager is responsible for the management of all computer system validation documents. The test coordinator is responsible for the computer system test and coordinates the elaboration and operation of tests for evaluating the performance of the computer system. A quality assurance member is required to periodically inspect and train the personnel and review all the validation documents. The tester is responsible for the execution of the tests required to perform the validation protocol. The witness is responsible for observing and reviewing the operations of the tester. [Pg.835]

But fantasy and fiction are not all that I have in mind. Aside from those two related forms of make-believe, most of the things that affect my welfare happen in my mind. I can say this, I suppose, because 1 am part of that minority of the human race that is comfortable most of the time, trained from childhood to be reflective and socially sensitive, and most of the day not required to be busily alert at tasks that entirely absorb one s attention. The things that make me happy or unhappy, at any level of consciousness that 1 can observe, are the things 1 believe and am aware of. [Pg.183]

Aseptic manipulations must be carried out in the grade A air of a laminar flow cabinet. Speed, accuracy and economy of movement are essential features of good aseptic technique. It is therefore essential that workers are well trained and motivated and familiar with the task in hand. Observation and microbiological monitoring of the operator and of the environment are very important. Air quality is measured using settle plates or slit samplers, work surfaces by taking swabs or by use of contact plates (Chapter 20). [Pg.385]

Active avoidance. D Mello (1987) administered NaCN (0.0,1.0,2.0, or 3.0 mg/kg) SC to guinea pigs well trained on an active avoidance task, in which animals were required to cross from one side of a test chamber to the other to escape from or avoid an electric current applied to the grid floor. A trained animal will learn that these cues allow for anticipation of current onset as evidenced by a shift from escape behavior to avoidance behavior during training. At 2.0 and 3.0 mg/kg, NaCN decreased the number of avoidance responses and increased the number of escape responses, response latency, and response time. It is not likely that these observations were related to a motor deficit because the number of intertrial crossings was not affected. [Pg.87]

Morris water maze. Intracerebroventricular (ICV) NaCN has been observed to disrupt normal spatial navigation in rats using the Morris water maze (MWM) swim task. In this task, rats were placed in a round water tank and trained to use spatial cues to locate an escape platform submerged just below the waterline. [Pg.87]
