It is largely used in some parts of England for scenting clieap tablet soaps. Lx wnflll quantities it has also been employed to disguise tiic disagreeable odour of cocoa-nut oil.

SNG Substitute natural gas. soaps Sodium and potassium salts of fatty acids, particularly stearic, palmitic and oleic acids. Animal and vegetable oils and fats, from which soaps are prepared, consist essentially of the glyceryl esters of these acids. In soap manufacture the oil or fat is heated with dilute NaOH (less frequently KOH) solution in large vats. When hydrolysis is complete the soap is salted out , or precipitated from solution by addition of NaCl. The soap is then treated, as required, with perfumes, etc. and made into tablets. 

Sodium alcohol sulfates are also used in the formulation of synthetic soaps and paste hand cleaners, commonly together with other surfactants and as tablet disintegrators in the case of sodium dodecyl sulfate. Sodium, but preferably ammonium and alkanolamine salts, is also used in liquid soaps. 

Pipets pose a special problem. Brushes cannot be used because of the shape of some pipets and the narrowness of the openings. If soap is to be used, one must resort to soaking with a warm soapy water solution for a period of time proportional to the severity of the particular cleaning problem. Commercial soaking and washing units are available for this latter technique. Soap tablets are manufactured for such units and are easy to use. 

Handling and disposal - Mycophenolate has demonstrated teratogenic effects in rats and rabbits. Do not crush mycophenolate tablets, and do not open or crush mycophenolate capsules. Avoid inhalation or direct contact with skin or mucous membranes of the powder contained in mycophenolate capsules and mycophenolate oral suspension (before or after constitution). If such contact occurs, wash thoroughly with soap and water rinse eyes with plain water. If a spill occurs, wipe up using paper towels wetted with water to remove spilled powder or suspension. 

Laundry formulations are the greatest consumer of LAS, being used as the primary surfactant in powder, tablet and liquid formulations providing good degreasing and soil removal properties. Some soap is normally added to the formulation to control the foaming...
