Systems Flow Chart

According to above research result, I designed the system flow chart, realize the closed-loop management from information reported to information eliminated . [Pg.639]

For Z Base, a VSM of the first article process was created as well as a Spaghetti chart of the people flow and a systems flow chart of the information flow. The entire team traveled to the location of each key supplier and customer so that their process could he fully understood by the entire team. All of the team members learned a lot about how they interface with vendors and customers they learned things that they had not realized in the past. After completing this process, it was obvious that the constraining resource behind the effective timely performance of the first article assessment was information flow and that communications was the area that needed to be addressed first. [Pg.161]

The VSM has given the team an excellent tool for understanding the materials and information flow. Sometimes, however, this is not sufficient for environments where the information flow is very complex. In these cases it would be valuable to create a systems flow chart so that more of the information process could be detailed out. The systems flow chart was needed for the Z Base process, and a very summary example of the flow chart can be seen in Chart 8.4. The actual flow chart had several dozen information flow lines in it, and about one-third of these lines were determined to be for control purposes or for error recovery purposes. The goal of one of the events was to eliminate the non-value-added information flow lines that existed. [Pg.240]

Our work is a part of an ongoing research project for the development of an automated weld inspection system. The general flow chart of this research project is given by figure 1. [Pg.179]

Whereas the production flow charts of inorganic pigments appear to be simple, the actual processes can be very compHcated. Many pigments are not pure chemical compounds, but can be multiphase systems contaminated with various impurities and modifiers. Because pigments are fine powders, the physical properties are as critical to their appHcation performance as are the chemical properties. [Pg.6]

An important part of the decision-making tool flow chart (see Fig. 1) is the redefinition of the specifications by the sensor customer after the surveying and testing of commercial sensor systems. This process almost always involves a downgrading of the expectations of the sensor customer, but it can also force a reaUstic evaluation of what sensor information really needs to be made available and at what cost. [Pg.390]

Examining the flow chart, some problems with the existing system become obvious ... [Pg.62]

Flow charting is used to help understand existing systems and to design new systems. [Pg.84]

Recursion is not necessary in a formula modelling system if the only material inputs have the necessary characteristics available in a raw material database. The flow chart in Figure 2 shows how the retrieval process occurs in this case. Compare this with the flow chart in Figure 1. [Pg.55]

The I2 system has been investigated experimentally, theoretically, and computationally by several groups, as a prototype for the study of dissociation and recombination dynamics influenced by the interactions with a surrounding solvent or cluster of solvent molecules[9],[36]-[41]. The system can be effectively modelled by two VB states[9],[41], which allows a focus on several key aspects of the implementation of the theory, without being hindered by the complexity of a multistate calculation. The implementation steps are conveniently collected in the flow chart in Table 1, to which the reader is referred to for a comprehensive overview of our strategy. All the details of the calculation are reported in BH-II. The effective wave function for the I2 reaction system can be written as... [Pg.267]

In Figure 1 the flow chart of gas fuel generation together with vitrification of all solid residues is presented. The system is self-supplied in... [Pg.101]

In Figure 2 the flow chart of classic fuel burning incinerator combined with plasma vitrification system of all solid residues is presented. The system is self-supplied in the electric power and it employs only single plasma furnace for vitrification of solids. This way every classic waste incineration plant can be converted to zero waste emission system. The excess of energy in the form of electricity or steam can be sold. [Pg.104]

Decomposition leads to a rearrangement of the process equations from their flow chart sequence to a natural sequence based on the information flow among the equations. The ultimate goal is to set up an iterative scheme in which each equation is solved for a single variable (by some appropriate root identification method), and where values of unknown variables that must be assumed are checked cyclically. The greatest reduction in the number of iterates that must be assumed, and therefore the greatest reduction in computer storage and time requirements, takes place for those systems of process equations in which the number of variables per equation is small compared to the total number of variables in the system. Clearly, when each of the system equations contains every process variable, no effective decomposition can take place. Fortunately, most models used in the process industries are of such a character that extensive decomposition can be effected. [Pg.187]

System validation is actually a process that includes a number of tasks along a specific timeline. This is best shown via the flow chart in Figure I. [Pg.304]

For method development and display of the run status, a flow-chart of the TraceCon preconcentration system is used to visuahze the current system state. During the execution of a method the flow chart displays the current activity of the TraceCon apparatus in the run mode. Run errors can also be easily identified, so that runs can be aborted if parts of the system fail. [Pg.157]

We started the work by analyzing the event tree from the investigation (Figures 1-5) and pinpointed the areas in the system where the most benefit could be obtained with the least effort. To fulfill the first part of the mission, we essentially produced, or had produced, top-down flow charts (TDFCs) for all operations in the system. Only after the systems were completely defined could we confidently look for the most beneficial improvements. [Pg.405]

In order to achieve selective complexation and to perform specific functions, chemical information has to be stored in L and read out by S. Information storage may be accomplished in the design of the ligand system and readout is contained in the dynamics of the complexation process. These various definitions are interrelated in the flow chart given in Figure 1. [Pg.5]
