System diagnostics

Approved packaging is normally selected after completing package performance qualification testing as well as product compatibility and stability studies. Since in most cases (exceptions transdermal delivery systems, diagnostic tests, and medical devices) packaging is not intimately involved in the manufacturing process of the product itself, it differs from other factors, such as raw materials. 

Normal operation—The computer system is maintained in accordance with the planned preventative maintenance schedule. Typical activities include recalibrating field instrumentation and computer I/O cards in accordance with site calibration procedures, running system diagnostics, checking operator logs for any abnormalities, and planning service visits by the system supplier. 

An important aid to the maintenance of good emission control over the useful life of each vehicle is the incorporation of on-board engine and emission control system diagnostics (OBD). These devices are combinations of sensors, computer diagnostics, and warning lights that alert the driver and maintenance personel to problems that affect emission control systems. Both the 1990 Clean Air Act and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) require that during the next few years, extensive OBD capability be built into new vehicles, as requirements for the performance of emission control systems.

Portal vein thrombosis (see chapter 39.3.3) with gradual or incomplete obstruction merely produces anastomoses and develops asymptomatically. After complete obstruction, ultrasonography will showparaportal, angiomatous anastomoses, predominantly in the porta hepatis (= cavernous transformation). Once this modelling and preparation work is completed, the FTs and BNs are built to model the system diagnostics. 

The main purpose of the plant control and protection system is to provide for plant start up, data acquisition, accumulation and transmission of telemetric information about the state of the plant and its support systems (diagnostic messages) to the control centre. 

Just prior to the incident the pipe-laying operation had been stopped. Operators reported a system failure and that the hydraulic power had been lost. Such an occurrence was not particularly unusual and, in line with company procedures, this was investigated immediately. A team of technicians led by the chief electrician tried without success to resolve the problems. After these attempts, a more in-depth analysis was made. It was decided, on the basis of input from the system diagnostics, to perform a memory reset. Following this the system appeared to be running correctly. This was the first time that a full memory reset was requested by the internal diagnostics of the control system during a project operational phase.
