Lights - warning

We searched the British Pharmacopoeias 1980 [ 1 ] and 1988 [2] for all drugs which carry a protection from light warning and these were programmed into a C.A.S. on-line search which covered Chemical Abstracts from 1967 to the end of 1988 to form the basis for the review. These authors also noted "A cursory glance in the BP 1988 edition revealed several drugs which did not carry the protection from light warning although the available evidence suggests that such would be merited." This discrepancy, observed in the United States, also still exists in other jurisdictions and internationally. 

There are no passive or active methods for mitigating the blast or missile effects of a BLEVE-type explosion after the BLEVE has taken place, other than the self-preservation actions of persons turning and running away if there is any visual (speed of light) warning. However, the primary cause of BLEVE is fire exposure, and several precautions can be taken during fire-fighting to minimize the risk of injury from BLEVE ... 

The generation ofX-rays must be indicated by two different indicators, one being a lighted warning light labeled X-RAYS ON, and the other can be the meter that reads the X-ray tube current.

Flashing lights warn/alert both the lift truck operator and trailer operator. 

Space needs to be provided for the auxiliaries, including the lube oil and seal systems, lube oil cooler, intercoolers, and pulsation dampeners. A control panel or console is usually provided as part of the local console. This panel contains instmments that provide the necessary information for start-up and shutdown, and should also include warning and trouble lights. Access must be provided for motor repair and ultimate replacement needs to be considered. If a steam turbine is used, a surface condenser is probably required with a vacuum system to increase the efficiency. AH these additional systems need to be considered in the layout and spacing. In addition, room for pulsation dampeners required between stages has to be included. Aftercoolers may also be required with knockout dmms. Reference 8 describes the requirements of compressor layouts and provides many useful piping hints. 

The pilot monitoring system shall include locally mounted warning lights to indicate which pilot has been extinguished. The panel shall also indicate when all pilots are operating. A set of contacts shall be provided for activating a remote trouble alarm. Under normal operation, contacts are to be closed, and will deenergize and open to alarm condition. 

Warn the boys that you will tell the police if they light the fire.
