Survey , area

The survey requirements will depend on rig type and the extent of the planned development e. single exploration well or drilling jacket installation. Atypical survey area is some 4 km by 4 km centred on the planned location. Surveys may include... [Pg.43]

Other acceptable survey methods shall be used for locations within a vegetation survey area where vegetation is not adequate to indicate the presence of leakage. [Pg.186]

Geochemical patterns are related to choice of map scale, which depends on densities of data. What map scale and data density used mainly depends on the size of the surveyed area and the purpose of the mapping study. [Pg.386]

In the Shan State (excluding Wa region), opium addiction affected 0.60 per cent of the rural adult population in 2006. Within the survey area, the average level of addiction was 2.16 per cent in villages with opium poppy cultivation, which is significantly higher than in villages where opium poppy was not cultivated (0.25 per cent). [Pg.215]

According to the above-mentioned chart the survey area is within Mameuli block (4), which is to the East of Artvin-Bolnisi block of Anticaucasus folded system (III2/2). It belongs to Bolnisi subzone and (II) is near the border of (III) Anticaucasus folded system of the Transcaucasus intermountain trough (east immersion), which is itself known as interzone dividor continuously developing deep break. [Pg.240]

This survey area is situated in the Gardabani region, on the left bank of the river Iori, 30-40 km away from Tbilisi. It is in (II) Transcaucasus intermountain sector, (113) eastern molassa zone of sinking - within the river Kura intermountain trough, sligtly-folded Sartichala sub-zone, near the deep fault, to its East, or, as the author of the map calls it in the molassa zone of Gare Kakheti (II2/3) the so-called of tom molassa blankets. [Pg.242]

Results of factor analysis (varimax used in this chapter throughout) on chemical composition data for the surface siliceous oozes from the Wahine survey area (8°2(y N, 153° W 34 samples Calvert et al. (1978)) are shown in Figures 3(a) (factor... [Pg.3475]

(c) and (d) are similar plots for surface pelagic sediment samples from the equatorial Pacific (Calvert and Price, 1977). The selection of a technique that is inappropriate for the surface geologic conditions in part of the survey area can also lead to erroneous results. An example is the use of the... [Pg.181]

FPA detector, with the thermal source surveying areas many millimeters on a side and offering excellent performance down to approximately 10 pm spatial resolution. With the synchrotron, the resolution limit may be extended down to around 1 pm, but over a much more limited area. [Pg.468]

The first two types of studies survey areas where the pesticide(s) in question has already been used. [Pg.171]

However, in 1982, the Suffolk County Health Department took over the Union Carbide (manufacturer of aldicarb) sampling program for aldicarb in drinking water and surveyed areas not previously covered. The County also began monitoring for oxamyl. By November, 1982, 27 homeowner wells had been found to contain oxamyl at concentrations less than the New York State Health Department guideline of 50 ug/1. [Pg.535]

UXO specialists surveying an area for UXO typically begin by marking the site boundaries with stakes. They then divide the area into 5 ft wide search lanes by stringing surveyors lines across the site to stakes at each end of the survey area. The UXO survey team then uses the low-sensitivity magnetometer to examine each survey lane. [Pg.183]

Equipment/material Surveys. Equipment/material surveys are performed in a manner similar to that used for area surveys. Hand sketches of the object to be surveyed are prepared. Surveying begins at the lower and outer surface of the object to be surveyed and progresses in an upward direction until the object is completely surveyed. Areas of contamination and levels of activity identified are noted on the sketch. Survey records developed from equipment/material monitoring are similar in their information content to those prepared for area surveys. [Pg.94]

A more complete knowledge of the physical layout of the site and its below ground features can be obtained by non-intrusive survey methods. Ground-penetrating radar is able to locate buried features such as pipes and tanks. Soil conductivity may reveal buried objects and areas of made-ground or waste disposal. From the results of these types of survey, areas for possible intrusive investigation are identified and the zoning of the site can be refined. [Pg.51]

The La Spezia region was a subject of research for an additional group of researchers (Palmier et al., 1997). Initial records made in 1989 detected enlarged amounts of metals in thalli of P. caperata. In some sites, deposits of Pb, Cd, Ni, As and Zn reached values which were five to ten times higher than the minimum values recorded in the surveyed area and than background values. The authors related this phenomenon to the metal content of the fly ash released from the power plant. The inaction of the power plant for a period up to two years led to a decrease of metal content, with the exception of Zn which is a constituent of organic compounds in local vineyards. [Pg.247]
