Support Type

A particular type of support assembly is selected according to the amount of restraint tolerable by the piping system and the movement to be allowed at each location. Support types ate classified as rigid, resiUent, and constant-effort hanging and resting are the two basic arrangements. 

By far the majority of sealed cells are of the small cylindrical self-supporting type in the familiar "C," and "D" commercial sizes such as that... 

Circular Clarifiers Circular units are available in the same three basic types as single-compartment thickeners bridge, center-column, and peripheral-traction. Because of economic considerations, the bridge-supported type is limited generally to tanks less than 20 m in diameter. 

Special conditions affect the choice of thickener or clarifier type. For example, if a unit must be covered to conser ve heat, the bridge-supported type may be more economical up to about 45 m (150 ft) in diameter, although 30 m (100 ft) may be the economic limit for an uncovered unit. 

Primary gyratories will accept feed directly from truck or railcar. Most manuracturers make both mechanical and hydraulically supported types. Figure 20-23 shows a Nordberg primaiy gyratoiy crusher with spider suspension. It is available in 1- to 1.5-m (42-, 48-, 54-, and 60-in) feed sizes. Table 20-11 gives capacity data for the Superior gyratoiy crusher (Allis-Chalmers). 

The column. The actual separation of sample components is effected in the column where the nature of the solid support, type and amount of liquid phase, method of packing, length and temperature are important factors in obtaining the desired resolution.

Table 9.1 shows the method s versatility across several solid-support types. Care must be taken to dry the tentagel resins by lyophilization for 24 h before subjecting them to the reaction conditions. Aircraft Parachute Flare, M26A1. shown on Figs 2-24 2-25, is intended for illumination in night bombardment. It is parachute-supported type which burns with a yellowish light and casts circular usable illumination upon the terrain 1500 feet in diam. By use of an MT fuze of the Mill Series the flare may be released from altitudes 2500 to 25000 feet at 350 mph true air speed... 

One of the support types most frequently used for solid-phase organic synthesis are styrene-divinylbenzene copolymers (cross-linked polystyrene, Figure 2.2).

An infrastructure has connotations of being reusable by different individuals/organizations for different purposes on different occasions. Typically, not all of these uses are known to, or even the concern of, the designer(s) of the infrastructure, who therefore must create something that will respond to and support types of use that have not yet been conceived. Moreover, infrastructures typically need to be capacity engineered—so that the amount of resource can be changed to meet current and expected...

Characteristics of typical film adhesives vary widely depending on the type of adhesive used. Epoxy film adhesives are made in both unsupported and supported types. The carrier for supported films is generally fibrous fabric or mat.

A similar picture can be drawn for supported type catalysts. Some relevant data concerning propylene polymerization are plotted in Fig. 6 using the same approach as in Fig. 5. Data of Chien and Kuo 64) are compared with those of Bukatov et al. 97). Two scanty sets of experimental points obtained at 70 °C are complemented by the dashed curve calculated from Fig. 1 of paper 64 ) obtained at 50 °C. Even though it must be admitted that kp values may not necessarily be the same for the two systems investigated, the tendency of obtaining lower (and perhaps more realistic) kp figure for longer contact times is quite clear.
