As described for glass mouldings, training to acquire the necessary specialisation skills must involve the supplier and supplier technology, particularly since the development of plastics is still expanding and the pharmaceutical industry must maintain quality comparability. [Pg.81]

Support structure What structural alternatives are there for participating in the enterprise Participation includes suppliers, technology development, or financing. [Pg.243]

Heat range Grade Supplier Technology MFR (g/10 min, 220°C, 10 kg) Charpy impact (kJ/m ) Vicat (°C)... [Pg.604]

Following is a list of suppliers for level sensing technologies. [Pg.218]

NOTE This table was compiled with the assistance of T. Allen, DuPont Particle Science and Technology, and is not intended to he comprehensive. Many other fine suppliers of particle analysis equipment are available. [Pg.1582]

The technology package for the toll should have established minimum standards for the raw materials that are used in the process. In some tolling arrangements, the company letting the toll supplies some or all of the materials. Others may detail the suppliers the toller must use. [Pg.106]

The use of CA has proved to be beneficial for companies introducing a new product, when an opportunity exists to use new processes/technologies or when design rules are not widely known. Design conformance problems can be systematically addressed, with potential benefits, including reduced failure costs, shorter product development times and improved supplier dialogue. A number of detailed case studies are used to demonstrate its application at many different levels. [Pg.416]

The drive for these additional requirements has come not from the suppliers but from users, such as the automotive, utilities, telecommunications, software, and aerospace industries which purchase millions of products and services used to produce the goods and services they provide to the consumer. Rather than invoke customer-specific conditions in each contract, the larger purchasers perceive real benefits from agreeing common quality system requirements for their industry sector. Quite often a supplier will be supplying more than one customer in a particular sector and hence costs increase for both the supplier and the customer if the supplier has to meet different requirements that serve the same objective. All customers desire products and services that consistently/ meet their requirements. While the physical and functional requirements for the product or service will differ, the requirements governing the manner in which their quality is to be achieved, controlled, and assured need not differ. Differences in quality system requirements may arise between industry sectors where the technology, complexity, and risks are different. [Pg.4]

Biases and preferences as they relate to proven technologies and suppliers... [Pg.208]

The technology of manufacturing the same basic type or grade of plastics (as with steel and other materials) by different suppliers may not provide the same results. In fact a supplier furnishing their material under an initial batch number could differ when the next batch is delivered and in turn could effect the performance of your product. Taking into account manufacturing tolerances of the plastic, plus variables of equipment and procedure, it becomes apparent that checking several types of materials from the same or from different sources is an important part of material selection and in turn their use. [Pg.296]

Plastics technology manufacturing handbook and buyers guide , Bill Communications (212-592-6570). Updated annually. The Handbook and Buyers Guide is a comprehensive tool for locating suppliers of primary machinery, materials (thermoplastics and thermosets), auxiliary and secondary equipment and controls, chemicals and additives, and a variety of specialized services. Contains extensive equipment and materials specifications. [Pg.599]

Within the NEXUS activity, aimed at strengthening the interaction of European industry and institutes in microsystems technology, user-supplier clubs (USC) are formed as one means for joint developments (for the USC for CAD tools see [240] for the MikroWebFab see [245]). This should serve to promote the industrial uptake, by bridging the gap also to new potential users. [Pg.95]

Concerning such user-supplier relationships, see also [102] for IMM s view on the role of strategic alliances in the field of micro-reaction technology. [Pg.95]

So far, no scientific extrapolation has been published on the cost savings for the chemical industry when using micro reactors. Industrial experience is also not known at least, it has not been communicated. Thus, one is boimd to rely on expert opinions given in the press and trade press. Mostly these come from suppliers of the technology, aiming to convince industry of the benefits of their systems, by prognosis of a return on investment. Considering the pharmaceutical R D efforts of the order of US 50 billion worldwide, CPC/Mainz sees a potential for an increase in profit of more than US 15 billion if micro reactors are implemented consequently [246]. [Pg.96]
