Success rate definition

Strictures of other aetiology such as radiation or caustic ingestion can be treated in exactly the same way as described above. Complication rates are probably higher and success rates definitely lower.

Given a set of molecules known to be inside PGVL as query molecules, what is the success rate for returning the expected molecules identical to the query molecules (100% similarity threshold) This is by definition a baseline test that a validated search strategy must pass. 

A similar success rate, four and 44 out of 50 attempts for the anatase and rutile polymorphs, respectively, was more recently found by Reinaudi et al. [68]. Their initial work differs from that of Freeman and coworkers in that the lattice energy (Eq. 2 with identical potential parameters) rather than the r12 cost function was used as the measure of quality during the SA stage. Although a better measure of quality for candidate structures that are similar to the desired structure, this definition of the cost function can be problematic, however, if there are very short interatomic distances. Thus, the benefit of using the r12 cost function, to help prevent creating candidate structures that may contain collapsed regions, is lost. 

Procedural success rates for AF ablation depend on numerous factors, including type of AF (paroxysmal, persistent, or long-lasting persistent), clinical and anatomic considerations, ablation technique, and definition... 

In adults the initial technical success rate of TIPS is reported to be over 95%. A Dutch study on long term outcome of TIPS in adult patients showed that the risk of definitive loss of shunt function was 17% at 5 years follow up (ter Borg et al. 2004). Heyman et al. (1999) presented literature data on 40 paediatric TIPS procedures. In this overview, six (6.6%) complications were found, and although patency was not assessed, the longest follow-up was over 800 days.

Generally, the success rate of the V V tests of systems with definite number of states should converge up to 100% and any latent software faults could be treated as hypothetical and thus screened out according to analysis assumptions.

Antidepressants have been shown effective in the treatment of major depression with response rates at approximately 60-70%. The only treatment for depression consistently shown to be more effective is ECT with response rates of 80-90%. There is no definitive means of predicting which medication will work best for a given patient nevertheless, the choice of a medication should not be made capriciously. Several factors can guide medication selection and thereby maximize the likelihood of a successful response. 

An accurate evaluation of kxa is complicated by the heterogeneous nature and poor definition of contaminant/soil systems. Some success has been achieved in modeling mass transfer from a separate contaminant phase. During degradation these nonaqueous phase liquids (NAPLs) often dissolve under conditions where phase equilibrium is not achieved and dissolution is proportional to k a. Experimental determinations and correlations for k-p depend on interfacial area of the NAPL and liquid velocity at the interface (Geller Hunt, 1993). For adsorbed contaminants, kxa varies with soil composition and structure, concentration and age of contamination, and therefore with time. For example, slurry reactor tests indicate that the rate of naphthalene mass transfer decreases with time, with media size, and with aging of the tar prior to testing (Luthy et al., 1994).
