In the valuation of effects (Fig.. 2, bottom box), an assessment is made of the relative importance of the various effects arising from each control option. The aim is to arrive at some sort of overall measure of the value of the option considered. This value is then compared to the costs of the action to obtain a net benefit. The valuation of effects (cf. Section 2) will depend on the social values and attitudes of individuals or groups in the society. It is therefore an entirely subjective activity. 

Accelerometers can be used to measure patient or research subject activity. By attaching a small accelerometer to the individual being studied, any movements can be detected. This can be useful in sleep studies where movement can help to determine the sleep state. Miniature accelerometers and recording devices can also be worn by patients to study activity patterns and determine effects of disease or treatments on patient activity [15]. 

A systematic and consistent approach to FSA should be maintained throughout the lifecycle and across systems. FSA is a subjective activity therefore detailed guidance, possibly through the use of checklists, as to what is acceptable for an organisation should be defined to remove as much subjectivity as possible. 

Prosthetic Feet. With the exception of partial foot amputees, the prostheses for all lower extremity amputees require a prosthetic foot. The prescription criteria for these feet take into consideration the amputation level, residual limb length, subject activity level, cosmetic needs, and the weight of the individual. Prosthetic feet range from the SACK (solid ankle cushioned heel) foot, which is relatively simple and inexpensive, to dynamic-response or energy-storing feet that are more complicated and considerably more costly. Note that prosthetic feet are often foot and ankle complexes. As such, prosthetic feet may replace plantarflexion/dorsiflexion, pronation/supination, and inversion/eversion. Prosthetic feet are typically categorized in terms of the function(s) they provide or replace and whether or not they are articulated. 

The identification of hazards before they cause an accident is central to all accident prevention activities. However, hazard identification is not an exact science but a subjective activity where the measure of the hazard identified will vary from person to person depending on their experiences, attitude to risks, familiarity with the process, etc. By repeating, or employing a range of, identification techniques the number of residual hazards will be reduced. It is doubtful if they will all ever be totally eliminated. 

We must make the teaching method of this subject to be application oriented. The faculty before starting any topic under DSP must first explain the students about the applications of that topic in real time. Giving real-time examples would trigger interest from students and would also make them remember the topic forever. Giving activities would also help in boosting the student s desire toward the subject. Activities must be purely application oriented and should mainly focus on... 

Burbaud etal (1995) investigated the laterization of prefrontal cortex activity during internal mental calculation in 16 human volunteers. A clear lateralization was seen in right - but not left- handed subjects. In right-handed subjects, activation was clearly lateralized in the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, whereas a bilateral activation was found in left-handed subjects. 

A possible solution to this situation is the preferential risk assessment of hazardous substances road transportation based on modification of the TRA method, enhanced with multicriterial assessment. A method modified in such way enables stakeholders (carriers above all) to implement their own preferences into the assessment process, by doing which the final risk listing includes required information related to the given subject activity. The outcome of such assessment will then be accepting safety measures reflecting the carrier s preferences (e.g. minimization of financial loss connected with an accident), but increasing safety of surroundings and its elements.
