Storage stability test

This test method measures the storage stability of the modified bitumen at high temperatures. The polymer-modified bitumens in particular are known to display phase separation under certain conditions, mainly storage. [Pg.195]

According to CEN EN 13399 (2010), a homogeneous specimen of modified bitumen is placed in a special thin unvarnished aluminium tube and positioned vertically in an oven of 180°C 5°C for 3 days. The specimen is then allowed to cool and is cut into three equal parts. The material contained in the two tube ends (top and bottom) is further analysed for potential changes of its characteristic properties. [Pg.195]
