Storage racks

The layout should ensure that exhausts are not placed close to fresh air intakes and that fire sprinkler protection for present and future requirements, eg, under stairs, storage racks, overhangs, covered walks, etc, is available. The dissolution method for the immediate-release/sustained-release tablet requires the following parameters USP paddle method, 900 ml of water, SO rpm paddle speed, 37°C, and samphng points at 20 minutes, 40 minutes, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 hours. Robotically, ahquots (8 ml) were removed, filtered through a 10 jm polyethylene filter and transferred to the storage rack. The volume (8 ml) was replaced with heated media. The samples were assayed hy HPLC using the external standard method.

New cars were not available for non-war work, but Dickinson was able to buy a new 1942 Buick station wagon for our war project. It had real leather seats, and real wooden panels on the outside. It was an impressive automobile. It had two fold-up seats between the front and regular back seat, so the car could carry eight people. The back seat could be folded down to give a large storage area. We loaded additional equipment in the storage rack on the top of the car.

The storage capacity of reactor pools is normally several years production but can be increased by adding neutron absorbers to the storage racks. Eventually the fuel assemblies must be transferred in special transport flasks to (interim) storage sites, sent for reprocessing or to final disposal.

AS/R systems have been in use since the 1960s, although recent systems are much smaller in size. Each aisle in an AS/R system consists of a storage rack on either side and a S/R machine. (In some systems the S/R machine may not be aisle-captive.) The S/R machine is supported by a guide rail both at the top and bottom this allows concurrent travel in the horizontal and vertical directions. Load pick-up and deposit is performed via a shuttle mechanism that allows the S/R machine to serve either side of the aisle without turning. Due to the shuttle mechanism, however, the rack used in AS/R systems is a specially-designed rack that is different from a standard single-deep selective (pallet) rack.
