Guide rails

The chassis moves on low-friction rolling mounts or guide rails (Figures 13.2 and 13.36). [Pg.376]

The cranking screw and the guide rails on which the trolley slides must also be coated with ordinary grease to provide a smoother operation and to prevent corrosion. [Pg.387]

Vehicles (external) Buffer rails, ramps Transporters (internal) Bollards, route demarcation, column base plinths, guide rails, Ilexible/automatic doors... [Pg.57]

Drying tunnel in A 2, valve before the condenser 3, lift- and transport device 4, trays in transport position 5, trays on the shelves during drying 6, heated shelves in B 7, radiation plates 8, trays 9, guide rails for the tray transport 10, separation plate between tunnel and condenser 11, condenser 12, vacuum connection. [Pg.192]

Accdg to Refs I R, Japanese Rocket Launchers were mostly wooden troughs, others were guide rails and steel barrels (tubes). Launchers were provided with some electric ignition device. The most practical launcher was used by the Japanese Army under the name Type 4 20-cm Rocket Launcher, described in Ref 1, p 204 and shown in Fig 320 on p 206. It consisted fo a metal tube on a mounting permitting fine adjustments in elevation and train. The launcher was in three parts which could easily be disassembled for transportation. A rate of fire of from 1 to 2 rounds per minute could be obtd... [Pg.496]

The cooler must be designed with stainless tubes hnes and frame. They must be installed in modular sections (description above) and must be laterally removable on guide rails (drawer). The equipment and the connections of the heat exchanger must be designed to allow the heat exchanger to be removed easily. [Pg.44]

IV. Rocket Ammunition is fired from a device called a "launcher, such as the "bazooka of WW II fame. Rocket launchers consist of either guide rails or guide tubes fitted wich some electric ignition device. Each rocket carries its own propelling rype motor and a warhead containing an HE or a chemical agent... [Pg.384]

A water tank storage device can be built, very much like those used to store methane in some rural areas. This consists of an inverted drum or tank within another tank or drum that is filled with water. As the gas fills the inner tank, the inner tank floats upwards in the water, and is kept from tilting by guide rails or guy wires. A stop keeps the tank from rising totally out of the water. For a more permanent setup, round concrete spring tiles can be put in the ground and a inverted tank inserted for larger area... [Pg.184]

Guide Rail Tests, 1967-1968, Dept, of Highways of Ontario, Report No. RR157, Mar. 1970. [Pg.109]

Friction stir welding and processing can require relatively more force ftan machining. The base equipment (ways, guides, rails, motors, spindles, etc.) must be investigated to determine the capability of the machine prior to any decision. [Pg.227]

AS/R systems have been in use since the 1960s, although recent systems are much smaller in size. Each aisle in an AS/R system consists of a storage rack on either side and a S/R machine. (In some systems the S/R machine may not be aisle-captive.) The S/R machine is supported by a guide rail both at the top and bottom this allows concurrent travel in the horizontal and vertical directions. Load pick-up and deposit is performed via a shuttle mechanism that allows the S/R machine to serve either side of the aisle without turning. Due to the shuttle mechanism, however, the rack used in AS/R systems is a specially-designed rack that is different from a standard single-deep selective (pallet) rack. [Pg.1524]

Applications coated fabrics, cornices, curtain rails, doorframes, guide rails for shutters, furniture profiles, roofing products, plastisol foams, shoe soles, skirting boards, sofit boards, wall and ceiling panelhng, wallpaper, window sills, wood-replacement products... [Pg.77]

The new aircraft had been modified to accommodate the special bombs they would carry and the added crew. The cylindrical tunnel that connected the pressurized forward and waist sections of the plane had to be partly cut away and reworked so that the larger bomb, Fat Man, would fit in the forward bomb bay. Guide rails were installed to prevent the tail assemblies from hanging up during fallout. An extra table, chair, oxygen outlet and interphone station for the weaponeers responsible for monitor-... [Pg.680]

The test equipment consists of a guided drop assembly, a force table, and a slash missile (Fig. 7.6). The slash missile has a mass of 2.0kg 0.1 kg and houses the test blade. The missile is guided by the guide rails to drop under the influence of gravity. The blade contacts the force table at 2° from vertical. The guided drop assembly prevents the slash missile from rotating about its vertical axis during its descent. [Pg.202]

Incline Any entry to a mine that is not vertical (shaft) or horizontal (adit). Often incline is reserved for those entries that are too steep for a belt conveyor (+17 to 18°), in which case hoist and guide rails are employed. A belt conveyor incline is termed a slope. Alt Secondary inclined opening, driven upward to connect levels, sometimes on the dip of a deposit also called inclined shaft. [Pg.793]

Automatic storage and retrieval systems—Storage racks linked through automatically controlled conveyors and an automatic storage and retrieval machine or machines that ride on floor-mounted guide rails and power-driven wheels. [Pg.470]

In this chapter I explore the phenomenon of embedded lead users. Reconsider the phenomenon in focus A company employs users that use the market offerings of the company. I present evidence of embedded lead users contributions to innovation across many industries mountain-bikers take their firm s new products on a ride on the weekend and test new devices, disabled employees introduce new ideas for product development which they encounter during using their wheelchair, employees of computer hardware firms immerse in gaming communities and filter the communities knowledge to transfer it into the firm. Even if I observed this phenomenon in various cases, there exists no or little empirical evidence [see II.2.5 for an exhaustive discussion on this]. The question, how embedded lead users contribute to corporate innovation, and more specifically what resources and capabilities they deploy, will be the guiding rail for this chapter. [Pg.35]

Poly(oxymethylene-co-ethylene), POM-R. Applications extraded articles, injection-molded articles, gear wheels, bushes, bearings, rollers, guide rails, tubing, films, clips, zippers, boards, pipes. [Pg.497]
