Stabilizer compatibility

The benefit and necessity of adding heparin to PN are unclear. There are also concerns about the stability/compatibility of intravenous lipid emulsions with heparin added at concentrations above 1 unit/mL. Heparin should be omitted in patients with active bleeding, thrombocytopenia, heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), or heparin allergy. [Pg.1499]

Biocides. Although PVC itself and rigid PVC compounds are resistant lo attack by microorganisms, plasticized PVC, in specific applications such as flashing and sealing boots on roofs, shower curtains, and swimming pools, may need protection. Many biocides, often containing arsenic compounds, are available for a balance of stability, compatibility, weatherability, and biocidal effectiveness. [Pg.1687]

To address the challenges in low-dose dmg product development, we recently initiated an excipient library approach, which follows the philosophy, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The idea was to create a library of excipient-related information such as chromatographic background, stability, compatibility, and effect on dmg recovery and release. This library serves as a general tool for low-dose dmg development. Using the library, development teams are able to screen for the most appropriate excipients at the development planning/design phase on the basis of both formulation and analytical requirements. This approach aims to reduce analytical development difficulties where possible. [Pg.328]

Extremely important for the safe handling of such pyrotechnic mixtures are, in addition to the chemical stability (compatability with the binder and other additional compounds) particular the thermal stability and the lowest possible impact, friction and electrostatic sensitivities. Figure 2.18 shows an example of a DSC ther-mogramm (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), which shows that the new environmentally friendly red mixture (colorant components from Figure 2.17) is thermally... [Pg.80]

Understanding the relationship between the composition of a mixture and its properties is fundamental to the development of formulated products. In the pesticide industry, formulation chemists seek to translate such an understanding into products that meet criteria established for properties such as suspensibility, emulsibility, storage stability, compatibility, and most importantly, biological activity. The preferable way to acquire the necessary knowledge is to deduce the properties of mixtures in terms of mechanisms that are operative at the microscopic level. However, mixtures are extremely complex systems and the available theory is usually insufficient for developing useful theoretical models. For example, we are unable quantitatively to predict, on the basis of molecular theory, the suspensibility of a wettable powder from a knowledge of its composition. [Pg.105]

ETHYLEX Gums 2020 and 3030 have found wide acceptance in textile finishing formulas because of their stability, compatibility and reactivity with other materials. [Pg.565]

The system selects a plasticizer and checks that there are no stability/compatibility problems. If positive, the user is asked to select an alternative plasticizer. [Pg.1679]

Plutonium dioxide is the form of plutonium most commonly specified for fuel for power reactors. It has the same general features already described for pure UO2 fuel, such as high melting point, irradiation stability, compatability with metals and with reactor coolants, and ease of preparation. In most designs of plutonium-fueled power reactors the fuel is a mixture of uranium and plutonium oxides. [Pg.431]

Advantages of ELS detection over RI are better baseline stability, compatibility with THF and gradients, small solvent peak, and greater sensitivity. Advantages of RI over ELSD are larger linear range, lower costs, and its broader availability. [Pg.3659]
