Pd(acac)2 has been reported to be an active catalyst in soybean oil hydrogenation [47]. The reactions were conducted in bulk with low catalyst loadings (1-60 ppm) and without any co-catalyst. Under 10 atm H2 pressure and at 80-120 °C, optimum linolenate selectivity and high trans-isomers content were obtained. Decomposition of the catalyst occurred at temperatures above 120 °C. [Pg.82]

The water-insoluble solids include hydrogenated soybean oil, hydrogenated vegetable oil, beeswax, and soy fatty acids and are usually used in a mixture of solvents to solubilize lipophilic drugs. [Pg.269]

The next level of complexity of lipid-based formulations currently marketed contain mixtures of four excipients, which can be SEDDS formulations or mixtures such as beeswax, soybean oil, hydrogenated vegetable oils and hydrogenated soybean oil. There are at least two commercially available four-excipient lipid-based oral formulations and both are delivered in soft gelatin capsules. Aptivus soft gelatin capsule (tipranavir) is a SEDDS formulation with ethanol and PG as the polar solvents, cremophor EL as the surfactant, and medium-chain mono-and-diglycerides as the oily phase. [Pg.297]

In a former study, we have prepared very highly loaded nickel catalysts, efficient for the hydrogenation of edible oil, by a (DP) method and examined the influence of the carrier surface area on the metallic dispersion and on the metal interaction with the silica. The best activity in soybean oil hydrogenation was obtained using a macroporous support with an intermediate surface area, the FC Celite (Manville) (16). We also observed that precipitate aging, at the end of the (DP) method, induced important modifications in the textural properties of the catalysts. [Pg.1018]
