Some design aspects

One function of the lens on the front of the aperture is to distribute the image and give a satisfactory spread of light. The lens often has a complex moulded pattern for this purpose and is expensive. 

The procedure for overcoming dazzle is to eliminate this part of the light, and use only the top half of the reflector. This is done by placing a cup below the dipped beam filament, as shown in Fig. 18.3. 

There are a number of objections to this traditional type of design, e.g. loss of lower half of the emission on dipped and complex lens design.

In this section, we consider various modes of operation of these types of reactors, their advantages and disadvantages, and some design aspects. Since there are many variations of these reactors, it is difficult to generalize their design or analysis, and consequently we use an example for illustration.

Scaling up of bubble columns is generally based on the requirement of keeping kiA constant. Since A is proportional to, this imphes keeping the superflcial gas velocity constant. Some design aspects of bubble reactors will be illustrated in an example following the section on stirred vessel reactors.

The procedure described in Section 6 should be followed to identify any differences between the safety status of a nuclear power plant and current safety standards and practices (a reference level used for comparison). Some differences may actually be strengths because the safety status of a plant on particular issues may be better than for current standards and practices. The procedure does not require that a nuclear power plant meet all current standards however, practicable improvements should be made as steps towards meeting them. It is recognized that some safety features, such as current seismic features, cannot easily be backfitted, and some design aspects, such as plant layout, are difficult to modify. For these cases, the procedure requires that the risk associated with the shortcomings be assessed and that a justification for continued plant operation be provided. 

Then the hybrid interference and some design aspects for practical application in (the antomotive steel wheel) have been analyzed. An experimental evaluation of the contributions of the adhesive and the interference to the resultant resistance of the hybrid joint was carried out with particular attention to the phenomena occurring at the interface level and the effect of the adhesive nature, its curing technology and its mechanical response. The outcomes of the laboratory analyses were validated in the steel wheel system. The adhesive contribution mainly affects the static resistance of the hybrid joint, and is strongly related to the type of adhesive exploited. On the other hand, the interference seems to play an important role in the fatigue behavior, especially in the wheel system.

The total volume gas and liquid is 7.38 m —only slightly more than in the stirred case, whereas (Gi)out is even lower.
