Human Resource managers often deal with workers compensation and other insurance. They may oversee return-to-work programs following illness and injury. Overall, safety and health functions are a small, but important, element of Human Resources. The professional organization is the Society for Human Resource Management.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), founded in 1948, provides services to more than 60,000 members. SHRM produces several professional publications, including the monthly HR Magazine. The society promotes a certification program administered by the Human Resource Certification Institute. Candidates may apply for certification as a professional in human resources (SPHR) or senior professional in human resources (SPHR). Certification requires experience in an exempt HR position and successful completion of a certification examination. The society holds an annual conference and exposition, an employment law and legislative conference, a leadership conference, and a diversity conference. 

In fact, according to a 2013 study by the Society for Human Resource Management, 77 percent of employers use social networks to recruit. And among the recruiters using social tools, 94 percent say they used Linkedln. With numbers like that, you can t eifford to ignore Linkedln.

To evaluate the maintenance activity in DNSP in terms of cost is not a simple task, because it has to manage the imcertainty of possible affections in the service, and consequently in the quality. According to business restrictions maintenance has to identify, examine, predict, quantify and, correct or attenuate the main possible affections. Then, due to fhmre aspects affect the analysis, statistical and decision methods are used (Ishikawa, 2003) to examine possible risks for human resources, assets, society and environment. 

Other research activities related to residential exposure assessment currently being sponsored by the USEPA include the National Human Exposure Assessment Survey (NHEXAS) (website http //www.epa.gov/heasd/edrb/nhexas.htm). In addition, the USEPA concluded a Co-operative Agreement, referred to as the Residential Exposure Assessment Project (REAP) with the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) and the International Society of Exposure Analysis (ISEA) which resulted in a reference textbook (Baker et al, 2001) describing relevant methodologies, data sources and research needs for residential exposure assessment. The REAP and other efforts complement other USEPA initiatives, such as the development of the Series 875 guidelines, and will facilitate a sharing of information and other resources between the USEPA, other Federal and State agencies, industry, academia and other interested parties. 

Traditional oral literature has had a tremendous impact on society among village and rural dwellers. The missionaries who came to the coast of Nigeria in the early part of the 19th century brought what we know as western education. They established western-oriented schools which made it possible to establish free primary education in 1976 which subsequently became compulsory. Secondary school education provided opportunities for the development of human resources to meet the challenges of political and economic growth. 

There are two important components of the environment in which societies exist. The physical environment (topography, climate, water, vegetation, soil, rocks, and minerals) provides the necessary resources and conditions for human society. The cultural environment refers to the humanly created environment, as well as relationships with other human groups in the physical environment. 

For example, I have discussed with associates in Japan their lifetime employment policies. As you know, the unemployment rate in Japan is normally less than 2% and when it exceeds this there is great concern. Some Japanese question their lifetime employment policy. It is my view that we in the United States have a lifetime employment system, however, the difference is that in Japan it is managed and controlled by the private sector, while in the United States it is managed and controlled, to a major extent, by the public sector through welfare programs, food stamps, etc. It takes little imagination to consider which is more costly to a society, both in terms of dollars or yen and, as important, in pride and utilization of the human resource.
