Site-Specific Issues

Before the selection of a specific treatment technology can be made, an understanding of the site-specific factors which drive the selection of that technology is required because these factors can influence the evaluation of the advantages and limitations of competing technologies. The information required to resolve these site-specific issues falls into four categories waste composition and matrices, waste quantity, treatment objectives, and the reactions involved in the treatment of the contaminated material. [Pg.143]

Define site specific issues such as environmental, regulatory, community, spacing, permitting, etc. [Pg.119]

Site-specific issues impacting the selection of the control equipment, must be quantified. These include availability of utilities, pace constraints, disposal options, and cost of residue generated by emissions control. [Pg.663]

The model is designed to enhance your training program. Using this model, you can develop and administer safety training programs that address site-specific issues, fulfill the learning needs of employees, and... [Pg.255]

To identify other site specific issues that will need to be addressed during the planning and detailed design for development of any of the candidate sites (i.e., strategically suitable sites that are identified by the SSA process). [Pg.55]

With the exception of a BLEVE, no credible consequential hazards have been identified as a result of a Design Basis external explosion event. The consequential hazards of a BLEVE are judged to be a site specific issue as discussed in the External Hazards Topic Report (Reference 4.8). [Pg.103]

It is possible that flooding or high sea levels could increase the amount of biological fouling. This will be a site specific issue dependent upon the location of the service water supply connection, adequate inspections will be needed to maintain connection pathways. [Pg.104]

Do you have any site-specific issues that rule out, or rule in, fuel cells ... [Pg.94]

The site conditions play an important role in the development of layout and scope. The more specific issues are as follows ... [Pg.190]

As U.S. EPA continues to revise the regulatory program for incinerators in order to adequately protect human health and the environment, the omnibus permitting authority, site-specific risk assessments, and public participation issues have received greater attention. The following discusses both issues in greater detail. [Pg.966]

By predicting PbB levels, a determination can be made about what health impacts may be occurring at a given site. This will assist health assessment personnel in deciding whether further action is needed. A site-specific evaluation must be made before reaching any conclusions (e.g., pica children, ground cover over contaminated soil, nutritional status and age of the population, etc.). Issues relevant to children are explicitly discussed in Sections 2.6, Children s Susceptibility, and 5.6, Exposures of Children. [Pg.279]

Since 1997 a procedure through which non-OECD countries can adhere to the MAD system has been embodied in an OECD council decision (Council Decision on the Adherence of Non-Member Countries to the Council Acts Related to the Mutual Acceptance of Data in the Assessment of Chemicals C(97)l 14/FlNAL). A series of documents related to specific issues of GLP and comphance monitoring has been pubhshed (available on the OECD Web site, OECD 2006). [Pg.57]
