Sinus problems

Sinus problems, hay fever, bronchial asthma, hives, eczema, contact dermatitis, food allergies, and reactions to drugs are all allergic reactions associated with the release of histamine and other autocoids, such as serotonin, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins. Histamine release is frequently associated with various inflammatory states and may be increased in urticarial reactions, mastocytosis, and basophilia. Histamine also acts as a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system (CNS). Upon release from its storage sites, histamine exerts effects ranging from mild irritation and itching to anaphylactic shock and eventual death. 

Because my sinus problems persisted, I underwent four operations to my nose within a single year, under full or local anesthesia. These anesthetics also temporarily poisoned my body and only made my reactions to all kinds of substances a lot worse. I began to react to my own perfume — and I was very fond of perfume. 

As stated above in entry 36, my problems began in the early 1990s with a severe sinus infection. The hyper-reactivity that followed has remained. Despite repeated visits to the general practitioner and the ear, nose and throat specialist due to my nose and sinus problems, little really changed I was prescribed some inhalers, pills and antibiotics. For years I had a slightly high body temperature (99.3—100.4 degrees Fahrenheit)... 

In cases of nasal and sinus problems, often the Physiomer Gentle Jet Nasal Cleanser is used for rinsing. However, it is not recommended for use by MCS patients who react to rubber. Physiomer makes use of a spherile system instead of a gas propellant, meaning their bottle contains a rubber balloon that keeps the bottle under pressure until it is empty. 

Common early signs of an acid—alkaline imbalance include headaches, pain, allergies, skin troubles, susceptibility to cold and flu viruses, sinus problems, breathing disorders, fatigue, inflammation, indigestion, and muscle cramping. These symptoms, and many others, are linked to an acid imbalance in your body, even if a doctor has told you that there are other factors involved. 

Other Skin rash, shortness of breath, chest pain, cough, sinus problems...

Nasal irritation, choking, coughing, chills, chest pain. Dyspnea was evidenced on short exposure. Latency period of up to two days may be followed by fever, cyanosis, pulmonary edema or bronchial pneumonia. Chronic exposure has led to nasal ulcerations, sinus problems and bronchitis. Osteosclerosis to various degrees has been a factor in chronic exposure. 

Headache is one of the most frequent complaints which mankind suffers from. Most commonly the headache starts from one of the pain sensitive structures of the skull, but diseases originating outside the skull are also important causes of headache. Diseases of the eye, sinuses, jaw, teeth and neck often cause headache, but also visceral tissue may give rise to headache. The headache may be secondary to many diseases, e.g. anaemia and hypertension. Drug induced headache is not uncommon, either as an adverse reaction, e.g. to calcium antagonists and SSRIs, or as part of more complex problems in chronic headache. 

Propafenone is contraindicated in the presence of severe or uncontrolled congestive heart failure cardiogenic shock sinoatrial, A-V, and intraventricular disorders of conduction and sinus node dysfunction, such as sick sinus syndrome. Other contraindications include severe bradycardia, hypotension, obstructive pulmonary disease, and hepatic and renal failure. Because of its weak (3-blocking action, propafenone may cause possible dose-related bronchospasm. This problem is greatest in patients who are slow metaboUzers. 

For the treatment of panic disorder, the starting adult dose is 0.25 mg twice a day, which may be increased by one mg daily after three days. Clonazepam s safety and effectiveness has not been determined for individuals under the age of 18. Side effects in the treatment of panic disorders are similar to many of the benzodiazepines, and include allergic reaction, inflamed sinuses or nasal passages, flu, menstrual problems, respiratory infection, speech problems, and vaginal inflammation. 

Overuse of antibiotics comes from the desire to treat colds and other illnesses caused by viruses rather than bacteria. Unlike bacteria, viruses do not respond to antibiotics. Yet the symptoms of bacterial and viral infections are similar enough that patients often want antibiotics for both. For example, a study from Harvard University reports that more than a million children a year unnecessarily receive antibiotics for sore throats.53 While 15 to 36 percent of children with sore throats have a bacterial streptococcal infection that antibiotics can treat, 54 percent of the children studied received an antibiotic. Other studies report similar overuse among adults for sinus infections. Although only a small portion of sinus infections result from bacteria, most patients visiting physicians for the problem get a prescription for an antibiotic. 

My problems only started to get worse after the first sinus infection. From that moment on my health never really improved. I also began to react sensitively to cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes and smog. My inflammations became chronic, giving me more and more problems, and limited my freedom. I really couldn t go to restaurants or parties where people were smoking without paying a stiff price over the following days. The result was usually an inflamed... 

The fumes which emanate from acetic acid stop baths are perhaps the single greatest health hazard in the darkroom. Over time, these fumes can cause damage to the delicate membrane of the sinuses, resulting in respiratory problems. For this there are also two solutions.
