Shower stall

Other uses of ABS include consumer and industrial appHcations such as luggage, toys, medical devices, furniture, shower stalls, and bathroom fixtures. [Pg.207]

For spas, shower stalls, bath tubs, etc, a gel coat containing no fiber reinforcement is appHed first to the mold. It forms a smooth, strong, impervious, durable chemical, weather, and wear-resistant surface. The bulk of the resin, which may be reinforced with glass fiber, is appHed by hand lay-up or by spray gun. The article is then cured at or near ambient conditions. [Pg.328]

The resins have wide appHcation. In nonreinforced form they serve as insulating coatings for electrical coils (46—47). As fiber reinforced resins, they can be made by reaction injection mol ding into laminates, castings, and coatings (48—49). Fiber-reinforced resins are used in marine appHcations (recreational boats) automotive parts (50) bathroom countertops and shower stalls and tubs and more recendy as baUistic protection for military vehicles and aircraft. [Pg.434]

About 8,000 metric tons of peroxides were consumed in 1972. This consumption was strongly stimulated by the rapid growth in reinforced plastics (Ref 23). The largest volume product is benzoyl peroxide which is used in polystyrene and polyester markets for such items as toys, automobiles, furniture, marine, transportation and mil requirements. Also, methyl ethyl ketone peroxide is used in large volumes to cure (as a catalyst) styrene-unsatur-ated polyester adhesive resins used in mil ammo adhesive applications, as well as in glass fiber reinforced plastic products such as boats, shower stalls, tub components, automobile bodies, sports equipment, etc. The monoperesters are growing slowly because of some substitution of the peroxydicarbonates and azo compds (Refs 8,9 23)... [Pg.676]

Daily bathing (showering is best) is recommended. Disinfect toilet facilities daily, and disinfect the bathtub or shower stall immediately after bathing. Use the disinfectant recommended by the primary health care provider or use chlorine bleach. Scrub the surfaces thoroughly and allow the disinfectant to remain in contact with the surfaces for several minutes. [Pg.141]

Construction Bathtubs, shower stalls, hot tubs, spas, cultured marble, building panels, swimming pools, floor grating, doors, electrical boxes and cabinets, countertops, sinks, tanks, pipes, pipe linings, concrete rebar, bridges, concrete forming pans... [Pg.709]

Bathtubs, showers and sinks account for significant consumption of unsaturated polyester resins. Fiberglass-reinforced bathtubs and shower stalls account for as much as 90% of the unsaturated polyester used in construction. Unsaturated polyesters have significantly replaced cast-iron bathtubs as a lower-cost material. Similarly, highly filled cast unsaturated polyesters have replaced ceramics and steel in bathroom sinks and countertops. [Pg.711]

Validation of the Model. The model was validated using published data on experimentally derived exhaled breath concentrations of chloroform following exposure in a shower stall (Jo et al. 1990a). [Pg.136]

The air around swimming pools may also contain chloroform. This is especially likely in heated, indoor pools, which can approximate the conditions found in shower stalls. Concentrations ranging from 3.5x10 to 19.9x10 ppm (440-2,335 nmol/m ) have been reported for environmental air at an indoor swimming pool (Aggazzotti et al. 1990, 1993). [Pg.210]

Uses. About 60% of the MA produced is used to make unsaturated polyester and aikyd resins, which are formed by reaction of MA with glycols. Polyester resins are used in the fabrication of glass fiber reinforced parts. Applications include boat hulls, automobile body parts, patio furniture, shower stalls, and pipe. Aikyd resins are mostly used in coatings (paint, varnish, lacquers, and enamels). MA also is widely used as a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of plasticizers and dibasic acids (fumaric, maleic, and succinic). About 15% of MA production goes into the manufacture of viscosity index improvers and dispersants used as additives in lube oils. Several agricultural chemicals are based on maleic anhydride, the best known being Malathion. [Pg.298]

In contrast, PET end-use markets have been developing for at least 10 years. When the PET bottle was introduced in 1978 and was collected in states with deposit laws, the industry for recycling them and reusing them began to develop. PET resins can be reused to make polyols for insulation and unsaturated resins for bathtubs, shower stalls, boat hulls, and auto panels. Reclaimed PET is also used for strapping, paint brushes, geotextiles, fibers for fiberfill and carpets, and other textile applications. [Pg.45]

Examples of products fireplaces, vanities, plaques, shower stalls, playground equipment, bowling balls, sewer pipe, pistol grips, corrosion resistant tanks... [Pg.312]

After you take a shower, even a cold one, you are warmed by the heat energy released as the water vapor in the shower stall condenses. You quickly sense the difference if you step out of the stall, as the chilly guy in Figure 8.28 is finding out. Away from the moisture, the rate of evaporation is much higher than the rate of condensation, and as a result you feel chilly. When you remain in the shower stall, where the humidity is higher, the rate of condensation is increased so that you feel that much warmer. So now you know why you can dry yourself with a towel much more comfortably if you remain in the shower stall. If you re in a hurry and don t mind the chill, dry yourself off in the hallway. [Pg.270]

If you re chilly outside the shower stall, step back inside and be warmed by the condensation of the excess water vapor there. [Pg.271]

This formula produces a copious, dense foam. It is suitable for cleaning soap scum from shower stall tiles and other bathroom and household fixtures. [Pg.5]

Another solution where traffic is heavy or there is no shower stall is to use a drying bag or cabinet. Drying bags and cabinets are available from many photo suppliers. [Pg.4]

Human exposure could occur directly via ingestion of contaminated water, but also indirectly through the inhalation of 1.1.1-trichloroethane that has volatilized from contaminated tap water. Based on a theoretical concentration of 1 mg/L (ppm) of 1.1.1-trichloroethane in tap water, the average estimated air concentrations for the entire house, bathroom, and shower stall were 2.3x10 . 5.1x10 ... [Pg.161]

The great sensitivity to pressure variations may produce sudden and immediate increase of the emission. For example, a consumer taking a shower may experience a blast of formaldehyde release from the shower stall. Thus it is necessary to take into account the final use of the board. A board which releases little formaldehyde at 65% RH may double emission instantaneously when the relative humidity increases to 85%. This type of board should not be recommended for uses in which there is a risk of moisture intake, such as bathrooms or kitchens. [Pg.197]
