Short Term Temperature Stability

The FDA guideline (FDA 2001) states Three aliquots of each of the low and high concentrations should be thawed at room temperature and kept at this temperature from 4 to 24 hours (based on the expected duration that samples will be maintained at room temperature in the intended study) and analyzed , and also If study samples are to be stored on wet ice, for thawed periods greater than four hours, then these conditions should be evaluated during validation as weU (Viswanathan 2007). In practice, most laboratories will attempt to establish at least 24 hours of short term matrix stabihty at room temperature to address situations where the analyst forgets to return the unused sample to the freezer, or for situahons where the sample is re-assayed, to capture the total cumulahve amount of time during which the sample is left at room temperature. [Pg.564]
