Sample assessment

Answers to each question on this sample assessment form should be noted when appropriate. Each question also includes two subsequent questions is a system (S) in place, which addresses the specific question and does documentation (D) exist for that system. In those instances where one or the other does not apply, the assessor will mark N/A for not applicable and no points will apply. [Pg.180]

The duration of a sample assessment depends on sniffing time, stimulus interval, panel size, simultaneous evaluation, number of dilution steps, number of blanks and number of replicates. According to the VDI Richtlinie a sample can be assessed once in 15 to 30 minutes. This assesment takes place without simultaneous evaluation and is a rather short period of time due to the inadequate stimulus interval of 15 seconds. WSL assesses a sample with the much longer interval of 1 minute. Because they use simultaneous evaluation with 3 or 4 panellists assessments can take place once in every 15 minutes. The recommended three replicates bring the total test duration up to 45 minutes. [Pg.82]

Our previous studies [22] showed that the uncalcined MCM-41 and lamellar phases prepared using the same surfactant as a template exhibit dramatically different thermogravimetric behavior, which manifests itself in distinctly different temperatures of the weight change events. This provided a clear opportunity for detection of lamellar constituents in MCM-41 and for quantitative determination of the composition of MCM-41/lamellar mixed samples. Indeed, the percentages of the lamellar phases in these samples assessed from the TGA data were remarkably close to those obtained using quantitative X-ray diffraction and gas adsorption analysis [22]. This demonstrated that in favorable cases, TGA can be used for semi-quantitative determination of the phase composition of MMSs. [Pg.568]

NSCLC patient with a 40% reduction in undefined measurable disease. A weekly schedule has also been evaluated and an MTD of 245 mg/m2 defined (167). Thirty patients were treated for a median of 6 weeks, and grade 3 DLTs included vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and transient elevations in creatinine and transaminases. As with the previous schedule, 80% FT inhibition in PBMCs was noted at the higher dose levels (168). In addition, FT inhibition by a mean of 80% was observed in 14 posttreatment tumor samples at 2 h and persisted at 30% inhibition at 24 h. In some tumor samples, assessment of apoptosis by a DNA break labeling assay revealed induction of apoptosis after dmg exposure, for example, a refractory breast cancer patient with a 5-month minor response. Two other schedules (169, 170), weekly for 4 weeks followed by a 2-week rest and oral twice a day for 14 days every 21 days, have been evaluated with no objective responses reported. [Pg.217]

Migration is a factor which must be taken into account in selecting the best dyes for the purpose. The test used by Ris etaZ.was to boil three dyra pieees with undyed material of equal weight in three separate beakefs.-A blank dye liquor was used, containing all the additions exeept the dyestuff. The samples were withdrawn from the three beakers in turn at intervals of 30, 60 and 90 minutes, and the amount of eolour on the dyed and undyed samples assessed. From this information eurves of thtf type shown in Fig. 15.8 and 15.9 are obtained. In each case the loss of depth of... [Pg.395]

As described in this chapter, prestudy validation runs are accepted based on the standard-curve acceptance criteria. No run acceptance criteria are applicable for prestudy validation sample assessments i.e., no run can be rejected due to poor validation sample performance during accuracy and precision evaluation, and all data from the prestudy validation runs are reported without exceptions. In some cases, there may be assignable cause (e.g., technical issues) for removal of a validation sample data point before the calculation of the cumulative mean. Exclusion is applied at the end of the validation study period and must be documented as described in the documentation section. [Pg.582]

The concentration of virus in unknown samples was best estimated when OD values of 0.6"C1.3 were obtained, corresponding to a range of approx 0.03"C0.5 pg/mL of virus on the standard curve. Table 18 shows the results for the determinations of the 146S in four infected tissue culture samples. Table 19 shows data for three of the samples assessed at a single dilution over 10 tests. [Pg.275]

It describes the smallest detectable signal of the analyte that can be clearly differentiated from a blank sample (assessed in the signal domain, detection criterion). It is calculated as the upper limit of the distribution range of the blank value. [Pg.785]
