Research Review

A scientific, non-profit making, non-commercial association, financed by 50 of the leading companies with interests in the manufacture and use of chemicals. It provides a scientific fomm through which the European chemical industry can research, review, assess and publish studies on the ecotoxicoiogy and toxicology of chemicals.

The data coming out of the trial also need to be publicly available, along with details of the methods by which the data were collected and the publications that have resulted from it. Without this, researchers reviewing the clinical-trial literature will not be able to make accurate assessments of the efficacy of medications, and doctors prescribing drugs to their patients will not have sufficient information to make informed recommendations.

Prior to 9/11, an assessment of chemical plant site security by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) was considered by many to be the most comprehensive analysis that was publicly available. ATSDR researchers reviewed national statistics on domestic terrorism compiled by the FBI in 1995 and interviewed security staff from facilities and potential targets in one community with numerous chemical plants. Reviewers found the following concerns ...
