Replacement modifications

There have been at least two other compns investigated as possible replacement/modification of Compn A-3 for AP shell filler requirements (Ref 82). One compn consisted of 88/12 RDX/ wax and the other 68/12/20 RDX/wax/Al. Plate penetration test results, however, indicated that there was no difference in sensitivity of the 88/12 RDX/wax from Compn A-3. The aluminized compn was less sensitive than Compn A-3 but more sensitive than Explosive D. The aluminized compn exhibited increased reassertion — expansion of the consolidated charge — over that experienced in using Compn A-3. However, it still did not meet the plate penetration requirements. Further work on these compns was terminated... [Pg.339]

Chemical Abstracts would name this as 8-phenyl-7-azabicyclo[4.2.01-octa-l,3,5,7-tetraene, which is unnecessarily complicated. Use of a replacement modification of a fusion name presents difficulties although the corresponding carbocycle should, in accord with IUPAC Rules, be named cyclobutabenzene, it is almost exclusively referred to in the literature as benzocyclobutene. Thus the name 2-phenyl-1-azacyclobuta benzene would be strictly correct, but 2-phenyl-1-azabenzocyclobutene is more in line with current usage. The fusion name based on azete avoids this problem. [Pg.243]

Records of replacement, modifications and maintenance of reactor components are also an important source of information to understand the effects of ageing. The records should show the methods of problem identification, analysis and solution. Preparation of reports should be based on a written procedure. [Pg.22]

The above fomuilae for the absorption spectrum can be applied, with minor modifications, to other one-photon spectroscopies, for example, emission spectroscopy, photoionization spectroscopy and photodetachment spectroscopy (photoionization of a negative ion). For stimulated emission spectroscopy, the factor of fflj is simply replaced by cOg, the stimulated light frequency however, for spontaneous emission... [Pg.248]

In an effort to counteract the accuracy reduction of the impulse method in a resonance situation, a modification to the impulse method is proposed in [7]. There, the term is replaced by 17 ° (.4(2 )), where A x) represents... [Pg.325]

This is Che required boundary condition for the mass mean velocity, Co be applied at the tube surface r = a. With a non-vanishing value for v (a), Che Poiseuille solution (4.5) must now be replaced by the simple modification. [Pg.30]

Fig. 23(B) shows a modification of the reflux assembly to allow a gas to be passed through the boiling liquid cf. Fischer-Speier esterification, p. 104). The inlet-tube A fits into a three-necked adaptor shown in Fig. 22(J). The stopper B can be replaced by a dropping-funnel, etc. Fig. 23(B) shows a modification of the reflux assembly to allow a gas to be passed through the boiling liquid cf. The preparation of acetophenone (p. 255) is a modification of this method, the alkyl halide being replaced by an acid chloride, with the consequent formation of a ketone. [Pg.288]

The Fenske-Hall method is a modification of crystal held theory. This is done by using a population analysis scheme, then replacing orbital interactions with point charge interactions. This has been designed for the description of inorganic metal-ligand systems. There are both parameterized and unparameterized forms of this method. [Pg.37]

The analysis of APC tablets (a mixture of aspirin, phenacetin, and caffeine) has been a common undergraduate laboratory experiment. This experiment describes modifications to the standard analysis for APC tablets in which paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen) replaces phenacetin. [Pg.448]

Firmware. Computer programs stored in a semipermanent form, usually semiconductor memory, and used repeatedly without modification. Firmware can be changed only by replacing or removing hardware. [Pg.431]

It is the net intensity, not the electric field, which concerns us. We previously used the fact that intensity is proportional to E to evaluate i. Using complex numbers to represent E requires one slight modification of this procedure. In the present case we must multiply E by its complex conjugate -obtained by replacing / 1 by to evaluate intensity ... [Pg.696]

The simplest of the portable modifications is a lightweight version of the original machine in which the hydrauhc loading system is replaced by a spring. This machine stiU requires a sample be cut from large pieces for testing. [Pg.464]

In a modification of the original method. Read (60) replaced a-amino acids with a-amino nitriles. This reaction is sometimes known as Strecker hydantoin synthesis, the term referring to the reaction employed for the synthesis of the a-amino nitrile from an aldehyde or ketone. The cycli2ation intermediate (18) has been isolated in some cases (61), and is involved in a pH-controUed equiUbrium with the corresponding ureide. [Pg.253]
