Spectroscopy (Royal Society of Chemistry, 2002) approaches the subject at a simpler level than Modern Spectroscopy, being fairly non-mathematical and including many worked problems. Neither book is included in the bibliography but each is recommended as additional reading, depending on the level required. [Pg.473]

Although the PCR and PLS algorithms are different, we do not feel there is overwhelming evidence to suggest that one method is superior to the other. Therefore, we do not have a strong recommendation when choosing between PCR and PLS. In practice, our tendency is to use PLS because of our experiences with it and the software tools we employ. Therefore, the examples discussed below only present the PLS results. [See Haaland and Thomas (1990) for additional readings.]... [Pg.325]

To further assist the learning process, readers may find it useful to consult other textbooks or literature references. Several particular texts are recommended for additional reading, further details, or simply an alternative point of view. They include the following (in each case, the abbreviated name used in this text is given following the proper reference) ... [Pg.5]

In Ref. 16, the reader will also find various techniques for solving the controller design problems, which use time-integral performance criteria. For additional reading on this subject, the following sources are also recommended ... [Pg.191]

In addition to references already cited, several other publications are recommended for reading. These include works on electron transfer reactions in organic chemistry by Eberson [48] use of Ag(II) as a coulometric titrant by Lingane and Davis [49-50], as well as by Schotherst and Den Boef [51] current efficiency losses by Comninellis, Grissen, and Platner [52-53] and various studies of mediator and radionuclide electrochemistry [54-56]. [Pg.597]

Prepared in association with lOSH, this book covers the complete syllabus. It is divided into five parts to reflect the spectrum of the five major areas of recommended study. Each part has a number of chapters, which deal with specific aspects of health or safety. To enable readers to extend their study of a particular subject, suitable references are given together with recommendations for additional reading. Further information and details of many of the techniques mentioned can also be obtained through discussions with tutors. A table is given in Appendix II to guide students in their selection of the particular chapters to study for the appropriate levels and parts of the examination. [Pg.760]

For additional reading on specific topics, the following books are particularly recommended ... [Pg.303]

Methods for evolutionary rank analysis are explained and discussed in this section. The different approaches of evolutionary rank analysis have in common that the two-way data stmcture is analyzed piece-wise to locally reveal the presence of the analytes. A reference to the review of evolutionary methods by Toft et al. is included in the additional recommended reading list at the end of this chapter. [Pg.274]

This chapter will provide an introduction to each of the technologies described and the use of the specific technique for analysis of samples. It will also provide additional references for other samples and recommendations for further reading on a specific technique. [Pg.24]

The following organizations can provide additional resources and recommend books for further reading. [Pg.279]
