Raw data processing

Material balance or weight distribution sheets the laboratory process flow diagrams with material balance or weight distribution sheets for each test system sample are summarized from the raw data process data records. Material balance refers to the balance of a particular component of the food, usually solids, throughout a process. If moisture or total solids are not analyzed for each process stream and only the weights of each process stream are recorded, then the term weight distribution is more properly used. [Pg.229]

Extensive technical measures have been implemented to allow the ISP to protect confidential, commercial, or sensible military information during on-site analysis. These measures include in particular the option of blinding the GC/MS operating software and security level filters of AMDIS (Automated Mass Spectral Deconvolution and Identification System), the GC/MS raw data processing software. These measures can be applied separately or combined, offering the ISP the choice of a gradual restriction of the information revealed to the IT (for details see Chapter 2). [Pg.44]

In statistical terms, a perceptual improvement is therefore obtained if the amplitude distribution in the filtered signal (image) is more concentrated around zero than in the raw data (contrast enhancement). A more concentrated amplitude distribution generally means smaller entropy. Thus, from an operator perception point of view, interesting results should be obtained if the raw data can be filtered to yield low entropy amplitude distributions. However, one should note that the entropy can be minimized by means of a (pathological) filter which always outputs zero or another constant value. Thus, appropriate restrictions must be imposed on the filter construction process. [Pg.89]

The data are transmitted from the front end processor to the computer in digital form over an ethemet link. The data consist of ultrasonic data, either raw RF A-scans or data processed by the digital signal processor in the PSP-4. In addition to the ultrasonic data, scanner coordinates are transmitted over the ethemet link. [Pg.784]

The most visible part of the analytical approach occurs in the laboratory. As part of the validation process, appropriate chemical or physical standards are used to calibrate any equipment being used and any solutions whose concentrations must be known. The selected samples are then analyzed and the raw data recorded. [Pg.6]

All of the data processing is achieved by digitization of the raw data, like that in Figure 8.37(a), followed by treatment by computer. [Pg.331]

The results processor computes the test results from the raw data furnished by the AP and coUates these results together with the demographic patient data into test reports. Test results falling outside normal limits are flagged on the report to speed up the diagnosis process. These data managers can also store thousands of patient reports in their current memory. Some of the more sophisticated systems also store the actual reaction curves used to determine the test results. [Pg.398]

The rapid development of microelectronics has enabled many similar measurements to be made with data collecting systems and then stored electronically. The raw data can then be downloaded to the data processing installation, where they can be plotted and evaluated at any time [1]. This applies particularly to monitoring measurements on pipelines for intensive measurements, see Section 3.7. Figure 3-1 shows an example of a computer-aided data storage system. [Pg.79]

Raw data is almost always incomplete, being highly dependent on the data production platform and often localized to a platform or regional database. Applications (and processes) generate data. However, applications often use proprietary data types and cannot parse data types from other third-party applications. It is important to consider that there are translation issues plus the host of reasons stated below in the requirements for data standards. [Pg.174]
