Finally, we should note that seeds of some species possess greatly reduced or immature embryos. Seeds of orchids have minute, poorly-differentiated embryos and, as mentioned above, no endosperm. Other species produce seeds with embryos which are much more developed than those of the orchids but nevertheless are still immature.
