Sucb a construction is cumbersome and requires utmost caution to ensure that the terminals are properly disengaged before the trolley is racked-out. Otherwise it may pull the wires and snap the connections and result in a major repair. It is also possible that, due to human error, the operator may slip to engage the terminals at the first attempt and may have to do it at a second attempt, adding to the downtime, while energizing or replacing a faulty trolley, eventually defeating the purpose of a draw-out system. 

Inspect the culture tubes in the manifold to determine if there is water in the organic eluent for any sample. If a water layer is present, quantitatively transfer the organic phase into a clean culture tube using a small amount of additional solvent as necessary. Return the culture tube containing the organic extract to its proper location in the manifold rack. Remove the Cig and sodium sulfate mbes, and reinstall the silica tubes on the manifold. With the sample remaining in the culture tube, continue to apply vacuum to the manifold to remove excess solvent. When the solvent volume is < 1 mL, discontinue vacuum, and allow the sample to return to room temperature. Adjust the sample volume in the culture mbe to 1 mL with isooctane-ethyl acetate (9 1, v/v). Transfer the entire sample into an autosampler vial for GC/MS analysis. Sample extracts may be stored for up to 1 month in a refrigerator (< 10 °C) before analysis. 

For the examination of wet mounts, the light of the microscope must be properly adjusted. To achieve optimal resolution, the condenser should be centered and focused for Kohler illumination (racked up). To achieve contrast of the objects in the field, light intensity is diminished with the iris diaphragm of the condenser rather than by lowering the condenser. 

Very carefully transfer the tubes to a rack of the proper size, so that the tubes remain vertical. Do not disturb the surface films, which now contain the parasites. Allow the tubes to stand for 1 min to compensate for any movement. The countertop must be vibration free. 

To dry herbs flat, strip the leaves from each stem and arrange them In a single layer on a rack or tray. Inspect the herbs regularly to be sure they are drying properly, and turn any of the larger leaves frequently to ensure that they dry evenly. Look also for anything that shows signs of mold or decay and remove it. 

Properly store equipment when not in use. Hoses should be stored on racks in a vertical position so that any residual product drains out. 

Toned prints should be dried face up on clean drying racks, as many toners will transfer to the screen when placed face down. One exception is properly washed selenium toned prints, which may be safely dried face down. Drying racks should be cleaned with a solution of household bleach diluted 1 4 with water (wear gloves and use proper ventilation when using bleach). 

To accomplish this, the smaller wineries will begin racking and chilling the wine two or three days before they plan to stop the fermentation. As an individual tank approaches a point at which it is felt it should be stopped, the winemaker will taste it several times each day. When it is felt that the tank has achieved a proper sugar/acid balance for the desired style of wine, the winemaker may add 50-100 mg/LS02 and rack the wine in an effort to stop the fermentation. This racking may be followed with a rough filtration, ifpossible.

Fly Agaric and Panther Cap specimens should be dried before ingestion. This is best done on a drying rack or by suspending them on a wire and leaving them in the sunlight until they resemble those pictured above. Properly dried, these mushrooms retain their psychoactivity for at least a year without marked diminution in potency. 

Developing Chamber A glass chamber that can accommodate one or more plates and can be properly closed and sealed. It is fitted with a plate-support rack that can support the plates when the lid of the chamber is in place.
