Quality improvement team

Teams such as quality improvement teams (QIT), may be used for implementation of all Quality Management projects. These teams are usually established for specific improvement projects and consist of staff involved in the management processes under review. For this project, PSM and ESH specialists, operations, maintenance, and engineering representatives would be members of the team. [Pg.40]

Third, small changes should be implemented in quick cycles (Hume, 1999). The quality improvement team should be given the opportunity to learn about quality by attempting small changes at first. It may be too frustrating for them to take on a large project for the first cycle. Team members should be allowed to experience a success and see how much improvement can be made with a relatively small change then their enthusiasm will redouble. [Pg.109]

A quality improvement team must be formed in the organization. [Pg.137]

Quality improvement teams—for addressing some recurring problems. [Pg.48]

Cross-functional work teams are formed when there is a specific task to be completed, which requires expertise that is contained within many functions of the organization. For example, a quality improvement team might be formed to reduce defects in a particular process. The members of this team might include a production worker, a product designer, a process engineer, a sales representative, and someone from purchasing. If the team is not given a clearly defined task initially, its first order of business is to define the task and... [Pg.186]
